I need to expand my DVD collection quite a bit, so have turned to OcUK!

Currently my favourite films are:

The bourne series
Oceans 11, 12 + 13
The one when 4 guys go to vegas and get hammered and one ends up with a baby, my bad memory is stopping me remembering............... :p

I have loads more but cant think of any atm, so what are the best films of the decade????

For me it would be the LoTR trilogy, I was 11 when the first one came out, and found it jaw dropping.

I think I see it with rose-tinted glasses, but I just love them. Even now, I still love the atmosphere they have and the epicness of everything.

They're nothing like what you've suggested but Little Miss Sunshine, Le Conseguenze Dell'Amore, City Of God, Spirited Away, Million Dollar Baby and Shaun Of The Dead are all brilliant in their own way from the past decade.

This WOULD have been great if they had bothered to finish it!!!

got to agree there, just left me going WTF is that it. Kind of spoiled the rest of the film for me as they lead you through their lives then bang its over.

FFS.

That's the entire point. The film is about fate. The "good guy", Moss, got killed by Chighur, and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Tommy Lee Jones' final speech is fairly arbitrary, but it closes the film with the idea that all this stuff happens around him and it's his job to stop it, but he'll be doing it forever and it will never be finished.

Next you'll be telling me that nothing happened in Lost In Translation.

Winds me up when people say this. The whole point of the film was about the theme and ideas, not just a chancer going on a killing spree!

For me, some of my favourite films this last decade have to be:

Black Hawk Down
The Departed
The Fountain
Darjeeling Ltd
Sunshine
Star Trek

Each great in their own way.

I could go on, but that's just from the top of my head.
