hi,

i was wondering if anyone can tell me if these temps/volts look ok for an i7 980x at stock speed.i keep seeing the leds below the cpu flashing red while playing games..and does anyone have any recommendations for stuff to change in cmos..

Gigabyte X58A-UD5
Corsair XMS3 DDR1600
saphire 5970
corsair h50 with 1 fan (push)
corsair 850w psu

thanks

that too high temp for stock speed @ 3.33Ghz. All cores should be around 25C in temp with vcore of below 1.10. I can see your TMPIN1 is 35C (should be 30C or less) reseated again.

Those temps look ok to me but what are the cores getting up to while gaming?
Use either coretemp or realtemp to monitor cores as both will give you a more accurate reading imo.

average was 42 - currently 31 to 39 across cores with coretemp64,only teamspeak, steam and ie running

There fine but idle temps aren't that important.
Try gaming or any benchmark/stress testing software to get an idea of load temp.

Going by your sig 1.10v is good very imo albeit i'm only going by i7 920/930 temps.

If you are using it as a stock speed (and not plan to overclock it) these temp will be fine anyway! Your system temp is 51C ? And north bridge is 70C ? and GPU is 64C ?

Look like very poor airflow case!

please ignore this.

the temperatures arent great but shoudl be fine

remember that stock idle temps dont matter. it is load temps that you want to be watching out for.

unfortunatly you are using a h50 cooler. they dont handle gulftown chips very well and it could limit your overclocking on the cpu somewhat.
the h50 isnt high end air and it certainly isnt high end water.

if you want better temps than that, you are going to need a top of the range air cooler such as a megahalem/venX or custom water.

in all honesty though, the only limitation to your £800 Extreme Edition CPU is the cooler you chose for it
