OcUK's plans for the future and new blood...

This thread may have been relevant a couple of years ago but the Mods we have now are a Lot mellower than they have ever been.
The whole Forum is far more chilled than it was back in the Nazi days. :D
When i read this thread it makes me think of a few years ago not nowadays.

Agree.
We get away with loads more now.
And for those who don't like certain threads or certain posters, don't click on them - easy peasy.

There is one additional suggestion I would like to make.

I'd like to know when my posts have been edited, removed, deleted, don't have to tell me why, but I've found several posts from some time ago that when I return to them, my posts appear strangely absent. They wouldn't have been in the offensive category, but I had no idea they were removed. Only when I reread a thread did I realise that my posts wasn't anywhere within.

This is one of the best forums on the internet right now, nice and relaxed but not got everybody running riot. Easily the best PC forum, hardly any stuck up idiots who feel the need to rub their ePeen in your face every 5 minutes.

You should change the forum logo though ;)

Also, any real reason why OcUK don't have a YouTube set up? with all the systems you build and products you have it could get a lot of extra interest and business for the shop too.

I don't mean to be rude or anything but don't you don't need to tell us how you will get better....tell everyone else.

On every other forum I go on, a lot people still have the view that OcUK is a poorly run over priced shop with terrible customer service and support. Which we all know isn't the case because we are all on here and shopping here. :)

Yeah that sounds like a good idea and would be easy and cheap to do. When I was new to PCs and was looking into buying my very first system I was looking at pre-built systems as I was a bit scared to build it myself. What put me off was reading on the net how pre-built systems are shoddily built etc. I think being able to see how your PC is put together in a video would inspire confidence in the customer.

It would also serve as a good guide to first time builders.

Moderation is the key point in forums. take some examples.

One, i wake up, log on, to find im suspended for three days with no reason given. i email the moderator in question, no reply. It was always the same moderator, who will go nameless but the first letter of his name resides between A and C in the alphabet. I simply asked jokester to remove my motors priviliges completely so i cant even see it, and that cured the problem.

Second, is that some peoples threads will get "cleaned up" ie posts removed etc, however some threads where people dig into your actual personal life and then post it all over the internet for everyone to see, will not be "cleaned up" even at request. Is it just pure coincedence that every time this happens, the posters in question have over 10 000 posts ?

and third it would be a nice idea to split the photography forum into sub categories for canon and nikon, as this seems to be a canon orientated forum and can be frustrating at times if your a nikon user. Just the same that you get told your car is crap because it isnt a bmw in the motors section.

I also think there needs to be rules on what is racist and what isnt according to the OCUK team for Speakers subcategory. Many threads get ruined where something will get posted, and a member of a non-white community will post that if a white person disagrees with their opinion that they are racist. This also happens the other way round in some cases. Its the internet, no one cares what race or religion you are, there should be total equality.

I agree with that. I see it on a large number of other forums where by the thread will degrade into slander and just go back and for.

I'm sure JohnnyG could explain why then?

At a guess (from the post he quoted), he was implying that Matthew was reporting a lot of posts regarding his sexuality. Which he more often than not brings up.
