If you play under the name Pickleator then yes you are banned from the server, I banned you earlier this evening.

The decision was not taken lightly and was put in place following a rake of complaints in game, in our IRC channel and via our website by a number of server regulars.

To be clear, we are not saying you are a hacker or a cheater (as everyone knows this is impossible to prove or disprove with the admin tools available).

However following the complaints and allegations you have been watched and specced on the server for some time and following this it was decided a ban was the best course of action. It may be that you are just a very good player and know the game inside out. Some of our own clan members have (wrongly) been accused of hacking in games which they are just very skilled at and we appreciate this may be the case here.

The bottom line is that your level of play (be it natural skill or otherwise) is causing a concerning level of complaints, accusations and spoiling the gameplay for a number of regulars to the point where we would prefer it that you took your gaming to a server more in line with your skilll level.

If you wish to carry this discussion on any further, please feel free to email me (in Trust) or join up at our forums as I will not be responding any further in this thread.

That's just downright unfair IMO

Being a good player isn't grounds for banning someone, of all my time playing on the SAS server (140+ hrs) I've never suspected Pickleator of being anything other than a good player, he never gave me any grounds to think he was hacking.

If people can't handle playing against someone better than them the that is their problem, you can't just go around shouting hacker at everyone who's a better player than you but unfortunately so many people do.

lol sas is a joke server these days. you get kicked for killing an admin. kicked because 3 people in chat say you cheat and some admin not evening playing kicks you.

protip: find a better server to play on.
 
I've had infuriating rounds where I've been shot at from all angles and turned around corners into a facefull of bullets but crying hacker against other, particularly regulars from here, does not seem fair.

I play on the SAS server and have joined it half empty to get it going because it is a popular ground for those from these forums, but if you're going to ban those that play above average we'll have to find somewhere else.

That's a downright lie tbh, not one admin has ever kicked/killed for being killed, nor has a single person ever been kicked or banned because people in game scream cheat, we ignore them tbh mainly because the people who do admin it are rarely in game and chat logs are reviewed daily.

I don't know you but please refrain from bad mouthing a server you don't even play on, cheers.

Is there actually any point signing up to discuss it further?, it's not going to change it, is it? Just sounds like enough people scream hacks and a ban is incoming :(. Shame people can't just accept there are people better than them and instead have to whine every time they die.

That's laughable, Pickleator from when I played BC2 was extremely good (Probably better now), and was 1 of the few who would give me a very good gun fight when we played. To ban him just for being good is rather sad, he 100% doesn't hack, I played with him a lot when I used to play on the OcUK server and people accused him there also, I'm sure he loves the thought of people thinking he's hacking just for being that good, but I thought the servers posted on OcUK were for everyone to enjoy, regardless of if they were very good or very bad. What next? You going to ban people for being new at the game and ruining the experience of regulars because they don't know how to play properly?

If you can't take people from this forum being good at a game and killing you, maybe you shouldn't advertise it on here in the first place, because it seems like a few of your regulars can't take being killed by someone who's better than them.

Just my 2 cents.
 
It's hardly advertised though is it? It's listed but it's not forced down your throats.

Anyway I'm going to duck out of this one because I'm no longer part of the admin team, as suggested pickle should goto the forum and sort it there and keep this thread for the game not clan rubbish.
 
What ever, it's not worth arguing about, like I said I'm not part of the admin team, I no longer play the game but I am one of the few that has log access from it.

yes i somehow know whats going on in there, as i used to play on there. pretty simple. gets boring when some nub shouts cheater and suddenly console messages are going WHO'S CHEATING, I'LL KICK THEM.
 
Except it's never happened once. So err wrong server? The amount of people on here who play on it will vouch that, that simply never has happened. Like I said, not one person has been kicked or banned of our server as a direct response to chat with regards cheating accusations, chat with regard cheating is ignored.

Yes with base rape it does happen but only from certain trusted players along with procon rewind function confirmation. But I'm not going to discuss it further with someone who doesn't even play there and has no idea how it's admined. Everyone here knows your talking rubbish.

Well, I've registered on the forum to take it over there, account is in a moderation queue at the moment, so once that's through, I'll post and see where the discussion goes.
 
How he hell am I supposed to get his tags now?

Seriously though I've played against and with Pickleator a few times and whilst I admit to questioning his parentage on a number of occasions I have never thought he was cheating. I love the {SAS} server and get on well with them all when I venture on TS but I think this is a bad call.
