**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I feel stupid spending £79.99 on a collectors edition but it is pretty special!

+1 for stupid online price! I'm sure I remember when digital games came out some people saying they should be cheeper! I'm in town in work all day anyway, think I'll swing by the local Game store...
 
Am i being stupid because i can't push the USB stick back in so it fits back into it's packaging! :p

EDIT - Got it back, had to push the slider real hard.

Gutted, just found out that Starcraft2 is region locked, so have to send my UK version back and be ripped off when buying a digital US version, the only way to play with my US friends... even then miss out on EU ones too...
 
That's pretty ridiculous from Activision Blizzard.

My copy just arrived, well done Tesco's, had me worried with the standard 3-5 day delivery notice in the dispatch notification email yesterday :)
 
Haha awesome, I love the little things, if you spam click a critter like 50 times it explodes like in the old game :D

I think either,

1: You change your region on battlenet page and download that client, although clients are region locked to region keys.

2: Wait till they unlock it in the near future.
 
bah. Left my pc on to download the digital version over night, and my pc went into hibernate mode and stopped!!!

Luckily you can download before paying. Means i just have to walk to the shops.

The game itself is region locked 8(, so if you buy a UK version its EU, so can only play with people in the EU. You can't make a US battle.net account, wont let you add it and changing the regions in the account wont work either. You have to own the copy of the game of the region you want it in and then assign it to account for that region.

I'd imagine it will cost more to get a US copy shipped, so only option of me playing with my US friends without waiting months to remove some of region locking is the digital copy.... Not a happy chap at the moment.

I have 2 questions

1. I have a Battlenet account already nuts it's a US one , can I therefore assume, to play the uk version I will need to create a uk battlenet account?

2. I have never played the previous version, and I don't really understand all the hype. Is it just like Red Alert and other C&c games ??! What makes it special?

Fine for me, Since I know ill like it, Not like Red Dead that I paid 40 for last week, that was a load of crap, got traded in for this :D
