**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

What settings are you all using? I use ultra textures, with graphics quaility high but ultra effects and physics.

Is it better for gameplay if vsync is on or off?

In the variables file i also set the menu fps cap to 30 and in game cap to 60. This apparently stops graphics cards melting when the menu runs at 10000 fps or something

(my system is [email protected], 4gb, 5700@stock)

collectors edition was worth my £21, me and my mate having epic games working out different strategys, and the USB that comes with CE looks epic when plugged in :D
 
The upgrades system sounds important, but so far 90% of the stuff I've bought, is for units I no longer use.

I have to say the further in I get the more it feels like C&C3 vs Red alert, with SC2 being incredibly dumbed down and overly easy.

I'm mainly comparing the campaign here, and from memory, did actually play SC1 again a few years ago, but can't remember it that well.

DON'T PLAY ON NORMAL, its basically embarassingly easy, its not even close to difficult, I've done a couple missions on hard now and haven't noticed a massive difference.

I don't love multiplayer in RTS's, I'll try it but generally get bored to tears, but always like single player for the story/campaign's. so far I don't think its a patch on earlier C&C's and SC1. I'm finding a lot of levels to be fairly gimmicky aswell, many fairly generic idea's and generic story.

Its still fun, but I'm pretty much finding every level is zerg rush tactics.

That it does. I installed SC1 off it, but because it looks so cool I left it in. Contrasts well with my PCP80s blue fans in the door, especially at this hour.

How did you get it for £21? Store credit or something? I ordered mine @ Play for £70 got my Cashback from the purchase (TopCB), then saw it £10 cheaper on Game, cancelled reordered, and got my cashback on there too! Plus I used like a Fivers worth of points @ Game too.

not completed the story mode yet but i can see what happens.. pretty much anyway! but then again, all games seem to have obviouse endings, with the only exception being Heavy Rain.... but there actually wouldn't be a point in that game if it was obv. ^^

Will hopefully finish it tonight, at work and can't wait to go home


anybody else have dreams about a game they've been playing for ages? or is it just my dodgy brain!
 
i still don't understand how they can charge more for a digital copy than for a nice card, foldout hard copy.. damn you activision!
 
Going to feel like a tit saying this but...

How do I find out my battle.net account name, I'm logged in and all I can see is my name Thor and my e-mail address.

Is the name the one you choose in SC2 when you first log in and it asks you to create a player?
 
love the game, hate the zoom level, its just far too zoomed in and the ability the lack of zoom out makes the game look a bit blockey to me.

is there any mod that can sort the zoom out level?
