**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Sorry to sound a tit mate but when I look at http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...JSdWxaWi05T0k3M0E&hl=en&authkey=CLz_hGU#gid=2

No one has a e-mail address there? Am I being a 'tard?

Your SC2 name is the one you chose after installing the game, the identifier number that goes with it is auto assigned and you can see it when you hover your mouse over your avatar picture in game.

You mentioned your battle.net name earlier which was confusing, that's probably what Craig was responding to when he said it's your email address.

Whats the deal with this having to pay for battlenet access ? is this only for other countries where you dont pay for the game retail. or will UK owners have to do the same?

Aaaa cool mate, thanks a lot :)

Huh? Where are people getting this idea from? You buy the game with a one off payment and then you can play it for free like any other non MMO game.

This question has come up loads, I just don't see where this 'rumour' has come from. Just because Blizzard make WoW which has a subscription, doesn't mean all their games do.

No one has to. Where did this rubbish come from, as so many people have asked this now?

Started the campaign last night, terrific ... I never participated in the beta so was a bit worried they might have changed the interface / controls but everything is the same which is a blessing, I just went straight in and got my hands dirty ... cudos to blizzard for not fixing what ain't broken :)

Lovin' it !

Really enjoying the story mode so far, about 6 missions in.

Had a quick skirmish against the AI just to see if my old carrier fest with Protoss is still a viable strategy, good fun.

Everything feels top notch, not so fussed about the £35 price tag anymore.

It seemingly affects some other countries also. Maybe people are confusing this with everyone having to pay Battle.net subscriptions.

From the mouths of Activison themselves, stating they intend to make battlenet privaleges a pay for service. What that entails people aren't sure, and when they intend to implement it nobody knows, hence why people are confused.

i heard it was the ''lesser developed countries''.. they planned on giving them the game for free, and charging a very small monthly subscription for X amount of time... its basicalyl so that people can afford it wihtout shelling out on the full game for over 3 months worth of wages or whatever!

I'm pretty sure what they meant by that was extra bits on the service you'd have to pay for, either by monthly subscription or one off payment. Think of how Warcraft's extra bits work, like changing your characters name, server, race and so forth.

Hello everyone! This is my first post in this thread, so while I can confess I haven't read it all, I'm glad that everyone seems to be enjoying the game!

I've only done the first mission and had a couple of skirmishes against the A.I. (as my friends on WoW kept pestering me to come and play with them... Damn BattleNet.) but it seemed really polished and smooth. My only complaint is the view height, on a 24" monitor at 1920 x 1200 it feels like a height designed for 640 x 480! (Tbh, it probably was in SC1 and that's what they've copied.. so :S)

Does anyone have any tips as to a good starting strategy; ie. what's the first thing you do with your SCVs at the beginning of a game?

That it does. I installed SC1 off it, but because it looks so cool I left it in. Contrasts well with my PCP80s blue fans in the door, especially at this hour.

How did you get it for £21? Store credit or something? I ordered mine @ Play for £70 got my Cashback from the purchase (TopCB), then saw it £10 cheaper on Game, cancelled reordered, and got my cashback on there too! Plus I used like a Fivers worth of points @ Game too.

Traded in Demon Souls and 3D Dot Game Heroes, I thought might aswell, never going to play them again :p
