Sup y'all.

I have a Powercolor 5830, and it runs Crysis and Warhead very well, thing is, it looks like this, and I want it to look like this.

That's not very high by the way, that's a mod someones done to make it even better.

If I get another 5830 for CF, do we reckon it'll run it that high?

Cheers guys!

Well I can play crysis and average 50-60 FPS @ 1680x1050 which does dip in heavy action and on certain levels, with a 5870 at 1000 core, so I would you say you could max it out with 5830 xfire but don't expect 60+ fps all the way through.

a 5770 can run it on very high, unless you want 60fps which you won't get without spending over £400

25fps is fine for Crysis, 20fps can be just about playable

I have a big, cheap, 60hz monitor, so 30fps is the target really.

On my single 5830, I run at Medium (Crysis) and Mainstream (Warhead), at 1920x1200, Motion Blur off, and AA at x2. I Can run AA at x4, but to be honest I prefer it turned off completely.

My desired settings are then, 1920x1200, motion blur off and AA off, but I want to run not only Very High, but also mod it to push it even higher, so the difference should be similar to the difference between the two screenshots I linked to in my first post.

Cheers for the advice guys. :D

25fps is fine for crysis on a 60hz monitor, use that as a target

turn AA off, download Reli2 from Crymod, make sure you run it then run the .bat file it puts in the Crysis folder, this will make it look a lot better and hopefully give you an fps boost, then download RE4PT0X's latest config pack from Crymod and choose a config, maximum reli2 might work although I'm not sure if it'll get 25fps average

Sounds like with some modding and aiming for 25fps should do it then.

Just gonna sit tight until the refresh and see how much the prices of the 5830 drops by. :P

Why not run the mod and see how far off the mark you are? If you're miles off, get a new card, if not, overclock the nuts off your existing one.

The mod I was talking about was the maximum settings mod. (Raises everything higher than Very High).

Might try some of these performance mods now that have been mentioned though and see if I can run High. At the moment High runs, but every second or so there's a little lag type thing.

^ would show you but I only have my 470 in at the moment

but it definitely can because I was using it before I got my 470 and got those kinda frames

it does average 25fps on a 5770 with very high setting at 1920x1080 i know i completed it twice with a 5770 you sometimes get dips into the 15's in a intense fight but it's perfectly playable

Well how come my 5830 does that laggy thing every second or so when it's only on High?

My CPU is only at stock now, but it should easily be enough, and my motherboard is supposed to be a monster, all the temps are good, fresh install of Windows 7 64bit, and everything is running smoothly.

15fps dips aren't playable IMO though, it makes me lose track/concentration. :P

I just checked it out running fraps earlier, was hitting 60fps consistantly BUT, the minimum was going as low as 29...

Going to repeat the same test on High settings now.

you're always going to get low minimums with older cards it's a relative fact, and by older cards I mean pre-fermi architecture cards
