**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

What he means is that to play requires an internet connection and a Battle.Net login. That means to play with two people in the same room they each need an internet connection, a copy of the game and a Battle.Net account. So you can play each other, just not over LAN.

Why? P-p-p-p-p-piracy (the Battle.Net part) and to sell more games (I think with SC you could play LAN games with one copy).

I thought what I said was pretty clear, but thanks for clarifying. :D

Guess I should have gone into more detail but I thought it was pretty common knowledge now.

There is no LAN meaning you'd need both need an internet connection, not a huge issue these days but might prove an issue for certain LAN parties etc.

Just got the box installed it and its immediatley gone into updating. No option to play the box version and download patched at a later date.

The update is slwo i'm getting about 15 kps which has now dropped to 0kps:(

still think this game is a bit overrated it's for sure a high polished game but it brings nothing special to the table of the rts genre every game mechanic it has has been out for over a decade but it's still a good game but 8/10 for me

try going into the settings of the downloader and disable peer to peer, it should speed things up a bit

Finally have the patch installed, but can not play the game as I have not been able to verify my email as I am still waiting on my verification emails despite having asking for it to be sent several times:( Not happy.

They do.

And here's a pro-tip, ctrl-f1 selects all your inactive scvs/probes/drones. So at the start of the game, ctrl-f1 right click on a mineral patch, then hit s/e to queue up your first worker.

Then start spamming clicks to make it look like you have high APM :)

That's pretty inefficient.

My copy of StarCraft 2 was today despatched from Tescos,i used the code that someone posted here to get £5 off, thanks for that forgot who posted that.

Not sure if my copy will arrive tomorrow or not?

I retire from online starcraft after a 1 win 1 lose record.

I'm just not good enough.

Will play the SP as its pretty damn good for an RTS.

lol do you think pro players quit after their first 2 games with no exp??

battlenet is based on ratings anyways so youll always play against someone your own lvl/exp

Got most of the way through the campaign on Hard, was one shotting every mission, way too easy; so thought hey, brutal will be a nice step up then.. started over and it takes me 5 goes to complete the first mission :(

Anyone else playing through the campaign on Brutal? it really lives up to it's name :D

I started on Brutal, could complete the missions but had a lot of trouble getting the achievements associated with normal and hard mode, so went back to Hard.
