I'd guess that thousands of these operations are carried out every day - it's a pretty "routine" thing, so don't worry! :)

cracks me up when people type in Scotish

He will be fine, try and keep your mind calm.

Ah ken he'll be fine by still doesn't stop me worrying good thing is it's the same surgeon that done his previous opsand he done a fantastic repair on his lip I have faith in his abilities

This might sound a very odd question, but when you had your 20 weeks ultrasound, were they able to spot this, or did you find out later or at birth?
Just wondered as we're being brought back for a followup scan at the moment to check for this exact thing.

Yep was spotted at the 20 week scan both lip and pallet diagnosed had his first op at 3 months and this one now he's 9 month if you want any more info drop me a email [email protected] or have a google for clappa

Stay off the Buckfast, you're typing all funny.

Ignorant erse, you deserve to banned for that.

Worrying about your young kids is a very normal thing when they are going through something that they do not understand. Take solace in the fact that they bounce right back from any setback and take it all in their stride. Adults could learn a lot from kids at times like these.

Sorry guys have to lol at the Bucky comments I'm from Glasgow after all even though I'm a fifer originally keep with the times though buckys too dear I've been reliably informed it's all. Blue nun now

He's no a wean he's a bairn am no a weegie

But in seriousness thanks for the kind words(and the banter) keeps the spirits up

I know the feeling foxtrot, our baby developed a nasty chest infection at about 5 months and ended up spending 3 days in hospital. It was heartbreaking to see him struggling to breath but still managing to smile at me.

I hope all goes well.

My 11 month old son fell over yesterday and hit his head on the stones outside, he has a big bump and bruise now, it's a terrible feeling when something happens to your young kid where you have no control over, not knowing what the outcome will be.
