Well there's a few differences but nothing earth shattering. Biggest improvement though is how much snappier the phone feels with 2.2 which I guess is the best thing of all.

Anybody know if battery life is improved with 2.2?

im gonna hold back on 2.2, i dont really use any of the features. and still undecided on root [if you cannot root after root atm] , plus some people have issues

major concern is does battery life go up or down.. if its down, no way am i installing

This has failed for me while it installed bluetooth files.

Because they guy who released it is cluless and has given up already

Looks like a problem with the update-script that someone provided me with. Grrr.

Sorry guys for messing you about, go with one of the other ROMs, I'm too tired.

Project abandoned.

Look out for 'The Weekend In Pictures' from me tomorrow.

All donations will be refunded.
Thanks to everyone who supported me.

I'd be more patient unless you go OTA and dont care about root, Wait on Modaco or other established Devs on XDA,

Not to mention bugs so far
GPS no worky,
Time display incorrect,
Market missing a lot of apps, reportedly until Google approve this release of Froyo from HTC for the market
720p at 11 FPS

The list will grow

i accept no responsibility for anything at all! i also dont know any more than whats in the guides ( which i found by googling 'debrand htc desire' )

gold card tool: http://android.modaco.com/content/software/308798/pc-application-goldcardtool/

guide: http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/67098-how-flash-debrand-your-desire.html

ignore the part about making a gold card and go to the modaco gold card tool link instead. its much, much simpler.

i actually used a different generic rom from xda developers, but i doubt it matters all that much. just different radio versions, whatever that means. mine works fine but your mileage may vary.

I have a O2 branded phone and have tried doing this but I can't get it to work. It goes fine until I try to install the ROM and I get the message looking for bootloader. It checks about 100 times then gives up and tells me to reconnect my phone.

When I did a hard reset I noticed there was an option to go into bootloader so it is there. When the ROM fails I get left with the hard reset screen but no options just the bulid information and some skateboarding Androids.

Can anyone help?
