Watercooling?

I have been thinking about getting custom watercooling. I have been looking around and really like the look of the cooling in the titan and xenomorph. If I were to get watercooling like that what does it require? Do you need to clean it? How often? etc... Thanks :)

Make sure it's thoroughly cycled before entering fish in to the res :D

Seriously, watercooling can be a minefield, expensive and annoying when wanting to upgrade.. but you get a decent cooling system and enormous self pride plus it's as difficult as it may appear. Choosing the right components is probably as difficult as it gets tbh providing you have done your homework.. Oh and you need patience .. lots of patience because it's not a build you can do in a few hours.. you'll need to test the loop in isolation.

You can read my first watercooling blog here.

The only problem with WC is once you've done, conventional cooling seems 2nd class and upgrading isn't as simple as just replacing the card. If you GC is in the loop, you have to drain, fit, fill, test etc etc. Also, it's not a good idea fitting a Waterblock on a new card that hasn't been tested.

Just some pointers for you

You have to replace the fluid once a year

Only if you use the stupidly expensive pre-made coolants. The best is to go with distilled/de-ionised water with an additive such as Primochill Liquid Utopia or PT nuke. Before i rebuilt my loop i had the same liquid in it for almost four years, only requiring the occasional top up. De-ionised water, sometimes called battery top up water, is non conductive and can be got from the likes of Halfords for around £4 for 5 litres. You could get lucky like me as my local Asda was selling 1 Litre bottles for 25p each. :D

If you want colour then by some coloured or UV reactive tubing.

On the original set up it was Zerex but i use Liquid Utopia now. In between the original and re-build i tried Feser One. Big mistake as it sepreated and clogged all my blocks in only 3-4 months.
