myself barely watching bbc at the best of times i feel i shouldnt have to pay a full years subscription if im only going to watch it 1% of the time.
daelo said:most of the broadcasts on bbc are repeats
daelo said:and the programming has generally been viewed to be going downhill..
daelo said:out of all the licences i think the tv licence is one of the most ridiculous, its so easy getting out of having to pay for it i dont know why other people dont do it.
daelo said:i also bet that there are thousands of people who buy tv licences but then end up not watching and bbc channels. if i said im buying this tv but will never watch any bbc channels why the hell should i have to pay for something that im not using or consuming, utter nonsence.
Ah well, sucks to be u then!
Tv's always been free for me.

Any such move would require the mandate be torn up. BBC is the largest and most respected broadcaster in the world. you really want to lose that,
. it's legalised extortion...
How, you aren't forced to pay it. Don't want to pay it. don't watch live broadcasts.
A lot of TVL has been put into infrastructure and other such services.
Many TV channels are now available to watch over the internet. If you’re watching programmes on a computer or laptop as they're being shown on TV, then you need a TV Licence. However, you don’t need to be covered by a licence if you’re only using ‘on-demand’ services to watch programmes after they have been shown on TV. So, you need a licence to watch any channel live online, but you wouldn’t need one to use BBC iPlayer to catch up on an episode of a programme you missed, for example.
I only watch sky, did the bbc put my dish up, or launch the satelite?
bbc is a service for the Uk and as such is publican funded. what is wrong with that?
But unlike other tax you are not forced to pay it, you can quite legitimately not pay.
lots of people need / use hospitals, fire and police services, schools and roads however when has anyone needed the bbc?
I dont mind paying tax for the basics that everyone / the country needs however the BBC is not somethign we need... and its not like we are just taking about a cheaky million either its billions.
they should be told to sell advertising and subscription like everyone else, if they are any good they will turn a nice profit.
you may have paid for separately.
