Just got delivery of my gigabyte gtx 460 and I must say it looks the business...I'll upload the pics later on.

A question though

I've never had to manually change a GPU before so do I have to uninstall the Nvidia stuff first before putting the new card in and then installing the drivers in etc...or can I just plug it in and play using the existing GTX260 drivers I have?

You don't need to uninstall and the drivers are unified - but to keep things simple IMO - download the latest drivers for the 460, uninstall current ones, swap cards, boot back up - don't let it auto reinstall and install the latest downloaded one.

Yup... swap cards - reinstall that just to make sure everthing is registered properly and you should be good to go.

testing my pics to see if they are right size...

Why bye-bye to the 260?

Whack it in as a Physx card!

After all, Mafia 2 will be out in a couple of weeks!

Piccie sizes look ok to me.

pic size is ok for me... but I'm running 2048x display. tbh except for a couple of them theres no detail that would be lost resizing them to even 800x tho.

Good idea about using the 260 as a physx card. I think Mafia 2 is supposedly fairly demanding so that will work in your favour a bit.

Looking at the pics I don't believe he has a spare pci-e slot to put it in which is a shame.

Nice looking card didn't realise how short they were though, it won't do anything for your e-peen :D

i was going to buy a 260 today for Physx but by looking at the layout of my case and mobo i cant?

My soundcard and DVD Drives(Sata connectors) will block another PCIE card, gutted as i wanted one for Mafia 2 in a few weeks oh well
