I'm so amazed at how bad terran players are in platinum right now.

I'll play pvp, pvz, and have a damn hard game. Now, vs terran, the quality of the players is sooo poor. It's really surprising. I'm not sure what I'm doing but against Terran right now it's hard to lose. And it's usually down to the players I'm up against being really bad.

I wonder if all the semi-competant terran players are now in diamond?
 
I just hate playing against Terran in general (I am Terran), as 90% of the guys I come across employ turtle power, and I find it very hard to get into their base. So I tend to just block their expansions so they can't expand at all, and expand myself and just get to BC's before they do. Games normally go on for ages though :/ 30 minutes+ for all.
 
Every player I have played so far has been Terran. Not really suprising since there will be lot of new people to Starcraft and they will just stick to what they know (i.e. Terran from the campaign). I am terran too, but always have been.

The fact that Terrans have to play other Terrans, is the only thing that lets me sleep at night :)

Something abut them having to eat their own dogfood :)

I have to agree about the match making. SC2 has sold over a million copies in the UK alone or something. Truth is, those of us that played SC1 a lot, or even played the beta, are now in a minority. Swarmed by a mass of unwashed newbies.

I think the way platinum is now, I'm going to get promoted soon to diamond. But it's amazing, I play maybe 4-5 games a day (work :() and it's so noticeable the skill change over time. On day 1, it was damn hard at platinum level. Now it's like being in silver in the beta.

Aye, shame really. I do see Protoss still, played about 8 games, saw 3 Protoss. However, only 1 Zerg player so far. Added you on Bnet if you fancy some games mate when you get your PC sorted.

My games so far have been quite interesting.

1st Placement - 2gate P
2nd Placement - Turtle Terran
3rd Placement - Turtle Terran
4th Placement - 6pool Z
5th Placement - Canon rush (proxy) Protoss which was just hilarious :p

After that, 2 more turtle Terran's :/

Yeah, it sucks. I groan everytime I see my opponent is Terran and just pray they aren't turtling. Last guy I played... I went for MMM, got to the base and couldn't get in, sieged tank was down, 2 scv's near the entrance for repairs to the blockade, and some marines down. Pulled back, did a scan, missile turrets everywhere... it's at that point I just think sigh, then just plop a bunch of units at expansions to block them and just opt for spamming BC's. It's horrible and I hate it, but it's all I can seem to do at the moment :)
 
Would be up for a game. Skipped the rest of the practice league, but figured I would finish SP before my placements. Serious withdrawl symptoms at the moment :( - hopefully will be up and running again by Wednesday.

not playing much online atm as i am waiting for my 24" monitor to come back from repair (3 monhs old) , i do not like playing sc2 on a 17" monitor (a spare) :(
 
I plan to finish the single player today. I have pretty much decided when i play online i'm going to be a 'random' player. but as i never played sc1 I'm gunna play challenges and ai games for a while to work it all out.

Do you have any idea how arrogant and self-important you sound?
 
Ive got into silver and am now about 30th I think. So far Ive only played 2 terran games i think with a lot of protoss and some zerg.

Id say im match about evenly with opposition. The past 3 games I have had I won 2 and lost 1, both having about even army sizes. Battles usually start with about 5/6 zealots against each other but one the other player was too slow and I had warp gates out before him so cranked out stalkers, he had 2 immortals though, was a good game - I ended up winning with more stalkers
