Jesus Christ! Don't forget to put your seat belts on!

The offence occurs immediatly, but producing with 7 days is a valid defence. Therefore no point in arresting people for it!

I understand that now thanks to your previous post. :)

I was pointing out that I at no time thought that Arrest and Conviction are the same thing.

So if your house was on fire and your kid was trapped inside, if a passing copper did get into your house and got your kid out but their clothes were aflame on the way out you wouldn't help them out. My my, what a charming individual you are.

I find it hard to believe you've never heard of that figure of speech.

Oh my apologies you were just joking around, I thought your venom towards the police might have meant you were being serious, sadly text is not always the greatest form of communication for conveying a sentence precisely.

arresting people for what exactly ?

My "run-ins" with the police extend as far as having known some of them personally, and observing their behaviour when off-duty, such as drink driving, driving without seat belts, and checking tax discs of cars parked at their own local. Also, arguing loudly at the bar and getting shirty and threatening police attention when they lost the argument. One of them made a ton of compo out of the Hillsborough disaster for stress. Stress didn't stop him shagging other men's wives. (Not mine before you ask).

I also resent nothing being done when my car and bike were stolen.

I've seen them hide and wait while the instigators of fights went away, then roughly arrested the victims. Cowards.

I would not extinguish a burning copper with my own urine..

Just because you know a bunch of tossers who happen to be Police doesn't mean that they are tossers because they are Police Officers.

Judging by some of your more controversial comments regarding the Police it may be they are tossers simply because they know you.:p

For not showing your documents to the Officer in question upon initail request.

This is the problem with English law, it is very obscure and contradictory at times.

yeah thats what i've just read up.....so it's not that you need to carry the driving documents with you and you can be arrested if you do not carry them.

I don't think they are the same at all, I simply did not think that an offence occurred until the 7 days grace had expired.

Why would the police having those kind of judicial powers make your life easier considering you are a student?

Conviction happens post legal argument. Therefore, I wouldn't have to learn loads of case law and everything else as there wouldn't be any need to hear legal arguments. (I'm a law student).

You wouldn't have to learn anything, as there would be no need for criminal lawyers.

Now there's an idea....;)

It did make sense.

Yeah, I quite liked the sentence myself, I think he was just suggesting that people hang around with like minded people in general, ergo if you hang around with people you claim to be ***** then .....

And that's why it made no sense. They are not people I hang around with. Why the hell would I hang around with people who I cannot stand. Try again.

That's just sad :( You would actually leave your kid so a passing pig can come rescue him? Cant tell if you're being serious.

I wouldn't wait for a passing copper to "maybe" rescue my son. I'd be in the house myself.

You've been watching too many action movies.

And yes, I hate the police. 100% of the officers I've encountered are a total joke and a waste of money. Flame me all you want, It's my experience and I'm entitled to post my opinion on the police.
