**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I'm so amazed at how bad terran players are in platinum right now.

I'll play pvp, pvz, and have a damn hard game. Now, vs terran, the quality of the players is sooo poor. It's really surprising. I'm not sure what I'm doing but against Terran right now it's hard to lose. And it's usually down to the players I'm up against being really bad.

I wonder if all the semi-competant terran players are now in diamond?

i think it's because there is a large amount of terran players around. most terran know mostly how to play against terran and they dont change their strategies against protoss.

OMFG I hate terran players:mad:

Just played a game and the ****** had a pile of cloaked banshees and raped me. Tried to counter by sending observers with my army (protoss) but he just kept scanning with his command center and popping them - then on with the rape:(

relax he just outplayed you

You know I think some missions in the campaign either need a time limit or something stopping you simply sitting tight and out gunning the enemy, I've been playing on Hard and the only mission that gave me trouble was that god damn scrap yard mineral rush, that was until I discovered spider mines and lol'ed my way to an easy win.

Just did the final relic missions with Cruisers and the force fields, I just spent everything I had building about 20 cruisers and 10 science vessels and proceeded to ruin everyone's day.

Been noticing there's quite a few people that don't use hotkeys at all. They're very quick considering they're doing everything with the mouse, but they could be loads more efficient...

i'm sorry but banshees are just plain overpowered (i'm a platinum protoss.)

so, ok. They do insane damage to ground units and buildings.

They attack in packs of more than 3-4 normally.

They kill stalkers easily.

They kill cannons easily.

They can CLOAK

Stick 1 raven in the mix, they snipe your observer.

They totally screw your economy.

The terran player just sits back and turtles, techs up to battlecruisers, while you are pinned down running to and from your expansions and main defending against these banshees.

you are forced to build lots of cannons (150 minerals each) or lots of observers (100 minerals/100 gas) and even with observers, the banshees can just see the cloaked outline, and attack somewhere else.

If you want observer speed to follow the banshees, you need to build a robotics bay (200 minerals / 200 gas) and get observer speed (I think 150 minerals/150 gas).

When you have a robo bay, you wanna be getting thermal lance for your collosi, not ****ing observer speed!

And how the hell are you supposed to afford any of this, when they are happily weaving in and out sniping probes?

And finally, if somehow you survive the banshee attack, you have a fleet of 30 battlecruisers knocking on your front door 30 seconds later.

It's just ****ing ridiculous, Sure I might not be WhiteRa, but still, every game I play against a terran, I can't go stargates or templars first, I ALWAYS have to go robotics because of the ****ing banshee harrass.

WHAT DO I DO?

P.S: Please don't call me a noob, i'm really not. if I don't see a banshee, I hardly ever lose to Terran. I similarly win most games against zerg and protoss, and my win/loss ratio is close to 2:1.

Not only that, but the "recommended" unit per mission is stupidly over-powered for each mission. You just make a load of them and crush everything in your path. Works as a good introduction to each unit though - just with they were all in MP :p. Nothing quite like playing your first game and pausing for a minute trying to work out where the medic is :p

I wouldn't mind the protoss mothership that's in the single player... :) Or reavers... :)

I don't agree with the banshee being overpowered though. I think it's utility is quite poor as observers plus a couple voidrays/pheonix shut them down hard.

The voidray is a signficantly better unit for example. Even without cloak. If a Terran is massing them simply cannon expand and expand again. Mass void rays, observers and stalkers and roflstomp to victory.

I'd face a player massing banshees, over a player massing tanks anyday.

Just finished single player. Now have to finish the levels in hard/brutal (did 10 or so in brutal but decided to go back once i had more money to buy upgrades. So i just saved all my money to about 1.2million credits... but i cant see how i can goto the upgrades on a finished game, do i need to use my save game from before the final level?

Banshees are a problem for Zerg, Toss should have few issues with them considering that they're late tech and Toss have a lot of great counters.

If i complete the campaign, do i need to go and staart again to get achievments or can i just go back and do the odd mission?

Battle net is doing my nut. I just spent AGES doing a challenge and got gold and guess what achievements got disabled.
