Right lads, my second 5870 arrived this morning so I am going to be installing this evening.

Any advice, or is it simply plug in and play ?

Is it worth a fresh install of windows 7, or will it work just fine ?

Help/advice is appreciated as i don't want to blow this !

I just set up crossfire with 2 4870's just put in the second card, turn on and ccc will come up with a crossfire box already ticked so just hit ok. Thats it.

yeah its very straight forward, as above, uve nothing to fear appart from cat 10.6 :o
ive no issues with my 5870's using cat 10.4b but later drivers have caused problems for lots of peeps with a CF setup.
heres a link to DL 10.4b (driver version 8.74) i think they are the best to start with

Sorry to hijack thread mate, but if you have a crossfire set up, are you able to run eyefinity without the adapter (similer to how you run nVidias surround)?

I'd like to know as I will eventually go crossfire 5770s and I'd like to know if this would be a possibility.

If I set everything as high as I can on Heaven and use dx10 I get 1243 with 2 4890's.

1920x1200, 8xAA, 16xAF using the Cat 5a's.

I've found using later drivers than the 5a's truly dreadful, Heaven score drops down to 834 with the 10.7's !

ATI seem to have really screwed crossfire with the 10.6 and 10.7's, at least on my rig, hope they get it sorted soon.
