Spectacle wearers - do they leave dents in your head as well?

I have ridges behind my ears where the arms of my glasses sit.

They're pretty deep, as in there is soft squishy flesh in that area, but where the arms sit it's just skin and bone.

THIS TERRIFIES ME

Does this bother anyone else? I've asked other boggly four eyed types about this and lots of people have them.

Makes me wonder how long it would take my my head fat to spring back out if I stopped wearing glasses, but obviously finding out with be impractical.

Actually that's a good question. Have you had your eyes lasered? How long did it take for your head to stop being misshapen?

Before you say it, thank you. I know it's an excellent thread.

My glasses fit fine, they're not tight or loose. I think I notice it because I've got cropped hair. Or it could just be a coincidence, maybe the arms of my glasses fit purely by chance into ridges that have been there since birth.

Or possibly I just have a fat head therefore squishier than those of others.

So many questions! Exciting.

You can also get dimples one each side of your nose.

I get the little red patches on my nose but they literally take about an hour to go away. I work with a guy who for some reason turns the nose pads on his glasses vertical and squashes them closer together so they sit about an inch above and away from his nose and the nose pads leave massive dents in his nose. Makes him look like a boss-eyed **** as well.

I'm going to wear my contacts tomorrow and do some scientific experiments.

One thing about wearing glasses that does irritate me is that they make some of my hair stick out at a jaunty angle.

Do you not fancy trying contacts? :) Funny how some people just look plain odd when they make the switch though.... Glasses just seem to suit some quite well!

Yeah I have contacts aswell. Used to use monthly's but am going to switch to dailies as I don't wear my contacts at work. For the above mentioned reasons, I tend not to go on a night out wearing my glasses.

One of my mates called me shrimp eyes for weeks when I started wearing contacts.

I just tried to take pictures of the offending ridges and they don't show up. They either feel bigger than they are (that's what she said), or I've lost the plot.

Or they're hiding.

I know where you're coming from, I hate it so much, every aspect of glasses.

People say 'Oh I'd love to be able to wear glasses'

If only they knew the hassle...

*edit*

Saying that, I've been paint balling today and had to wear the mask over my glasses so they've been rammed into my head today, can really feel some crap there!

And no I'm not a fatty! :(

hey guys my left eye is a little less focused then my right eye its developed recently sort of cos of a year ago i injured my eye.

I am going opticians to get my left eye and right eye rated and what not.

Obv i may need to wear contacts to balance it out but would i be able to get laser eye surgery as its bascialy just ur standard myopia you know blurryness just standard eye issue.

And as i notice it a lot last few days it annoys me i keep looking out for it so it gives me a head ache -_- thats why im goin opticians to get my eyes looked at to get me something to balance it out for the mean time glasses etc.

Would rather wear contacts.

Can't agree more, they are a pain for doing sports etc. Also, simple things like lying on a sofa watching tv with your head against a cushion and the glasses just aren't comfortable! Reading in bed is another example. Daft stuff like that. Glasses just aren't "kool 4 skool" (sorry!).

Why can't there be a cheap permenant fix for all this :(

Oh and don't forget contact lenses...coming in from an alcoholic filled night out, fall asleep, wake up in the morning with barnacles on your eyes...sometimes the suction sounds really don't help the quesy stomach of the obligatory kebab.
