Its because you were probs quite high in Gold... so they match you agaiunst better players to see if your ready.
Now your in plat, your probs mid-low table, so making sure your good enough!
 
I had a terrible losing streak as both zerg and terran when I entered the ladders. I'm now playing as an aggressive protoss and it feels and clicks much better for me. 5 win streak in gold and have identified loads of areas to improve in.

This game gets more interesting the more you understand the finer details. gg blizzard :)

oh and lol at those replays rave, especially the 2nd. You wasted 20 minutes of that man's life :D

I think the longest has been just short of 30 mins so far (quickest was less than 5 minutes mind! - not sure if I included that one). Funny thing is, I am climbing the silver league, all while watching TV. Then I watch the replays for the lols :p. To add to the comedy, most players who quit on me are Terran players :rolleyes:

I'm waiting until someone tries it on me. I'm gonna act all dumb, "hey you there dude???", then laugh at them when I find their command centre. Anyone know if the opponent can hear your mic? To actually laugh at them would be satisfying :D

Still can't believe I forgot Ghosts in all of the games, as soon as you said EMP in chat I clicked that I never used any Ghosts and looked like this. Doh :) Thanks for the tips afterwards also, was trying to write them down as we were talking.

LOL @ the guy who found me on the edge of the map and flew past shooting at me. I then moved to a corner and a few minutes later he quit. lol

Edit: lol, just watched the replay. He flew past me twice, haha!

yeah protoss is easy mode but once you start playing against highly skilled terran or zerg players you'll struggle a lot.

I really hate when your opponent(s) know they have lost and decide to hide their command centre to postpone the inevitable.

I've had that happen in 2 of the 5 placement games I played!

Just finished doing all of them.. Won 3 and lost 2 but still got put in the gold league! Does that mean I'm going to get my ass handed to me all the time?
 
Just played my first few games online, 2v2 with a mate from work. We got absolutely obliterated! The games I've seen online with decent players seem to be over in 8-10 minutes with relatively small armies. But ours turned into 40 minute noob fests with 2 million units on each side. :(
