do you believe in heaven?

i'm not sure if i do, i believe in hell more. not hell as in a stereotypical what religion would have me believe but i certainly believe we are here to good as opposed to do bad. bad (imo) are things such as taking anothers life, rape, etc. but, what if someone has no option but to take another persons life, say in a ''it's you or me and it ain't gonna be me'' situation? by it's very act, you are fighting for your right to live and therefore only doing what you were put on this earth to do, live. i don't know how religion feels about stealing but what if you have no choice ie you are stealing to provide for your family because you live in a place where you do not get given a break if you are unlucky enough to find yourself in such a situation where stealing is the only chance of surviving and although life may be somewhat considerably grim, you want to live because tomorrow is another day and who knows what that may bring? but if i believe in hell then surely i must believe in heaven aswell as surely they are the complete opposites of fulfilling a worthy life and a guide to us mere mortals of the right thing to do? but what is to be expected when us good uns have met our final destination? is it a never ending peace? that'd be a bit boring surely? like, are you supposed to just go on forever?

I wouldnt say I believe in anything in particular but I like to think that there might be an afterlife or a higher plain of existence that follows after this.

I'll be peveed if this is it, but then I wouldnt know any better so win-win!

No, i dont even believe in god or any form of religion, dont think they have a place in modern society.

Does believing in heaven/hell/afterlife make you religious? Are the 2 interconnected or 2 separate things?

I believe people can have moments of sheer 'hell' and utopia in their life which, from their own imagination (ironically) is the extent to which heaven or hell can be experienced.

In the Biblical sense, no, of course not it's just a fable. Sort of like violent Disney.

Maybe a bit off topic, but anyways...

I think the process of death and new life afterwards is being obstructed a bit by traditions.. i.e. either being placed in a coffin where you just rot away or be cremated and placed in a jar..

I mean, imagine if all the dead were burried in a natural way i.e. burried with things that naturally decompose underground, imagine how many new life-forms will grow from it. Like tree's, plants, animals, insects etc.

I think this is what it means by new life after-death/afterlife.. :o

Just makes me think of;

"Hell is not a place you go, if you not a Christian
it's the failure of your life's greatest ambition"

I guess in a literal sense you're right. I also take the 'after-life' to mean how people remember somebody else. They sort of live on via the thoughts/spoken word/etc. of others.
