Does anybody else have several new motherboards' worth of useless spare IDE cables lying around? Every new board I have unboxed in the past few years has come with between 2 and 4 IDE ribbons (more than the IDE connections on the board) and not enough sata cables etc. I guess they are just trying to clear old stock which they bought millions of, or maby it only costs them 1p to put them in; but they are starting to annoy me. Anybody want a bin bag full of IDE ribbons lol?

Put an ad in the For Sale section saying 'free cables!' I'm sure someone will take them. :p I've even got hundreds of spare SATA cables now...

I found it most odd that gigbyte chose to include a single ide cable in the box for the h55mitxusb3 board. This minature board has 4 onboard sata slots, and doesn't have any ide connectors at all.... Yet the cable the provide.

heh. Must be a standard off the shelf bag of bits. Probably cheaper!
