are OCUK PSUs anygood..? after a decent 650W or so modular PSU and looking at OCUK 'Crusade' just wondering if anyone (OCUK staff maybe) can tell me what build quality, reliability, etc. are like? thanks :)

Your best bang for buck psu is the Antec new truepower 650W.

Its modular, made by seasonic and has two 6pin and two 6+2pin pci-e for dual graphics cards.

All the info I have seen posted by shop staff on these forums is something to the effect of:

These are cheap PSUs for relatively low power applications (and work well for this), don't use them with high-end gaming rigs.

If you want a decent 650W modular - the Antec Suggested by stulid is excellent and would be my first choice. Alternatively, anything by Corsair, Seasonic, Enermax, Be Quiet! would be excellent. OCZ is also worth a shout - not quite as good as the makes mentioned above - but they do tend to make solid PSUs.

hmm, all interesting! i currently have an Tagan PSU but i don't know if it will handle the 4870X2 is just purchased on a certain auction site. they need 6-pin and 8-pin don't they? know of the top of your head what ampage they require on 12v rail? :)

are they on this week only? thats good price for corsair PSU, they are good quality, best mate uses one in his system and its nice and quiet as well! :D

hmm, could be an issue, might be going down the micro ATX avenue so the last thing i need with micro ATX case and watercooling is loads of un-used cables so modular is definately prefered, will check out antec truepower or maybe one of the OCZ ones. :)

If you want one graphics card then a ocz will be ok, they tend to have two pcie cables.

Or the Antec new truepower 550w is plenty for a single card, and has only two pcie cables.

I'm surprised how everyone's missing Be Quiet! E7 600W that is on This week only offer. It's probably one of the better ones regardless the price and for £55 you just can't go wrong with it really. It's modular too.

never heard of be quiet! before, not to sound crazy or anything but are they good quality i.e. not likely to spontaneously explode or anything. ;)

Its been overlook ed as I don't think that is a modular psu, only the E7cm for cable management range are, and there is no 600w cm version on the bequiet website, only a 680w model.
