They have the forge which allows you to create cannons and allows you research upgrades your attack, armor and shields... Is that what you mean?

I was under the impression that being within the area of influence of a pylon 'toss shields regenerated faster after combat? If not i'll still stick with keeping a pylon near my units as it allows for warping in which is also useful.

On the gateways/barracks front. I've only played 20 games, terminology isn't exactly my strong point :p
 
Played a few more games this morning. Have settled in nicely as the protoss. I find other protoss very easy to beat as long as I scout early. However, I did get rushed by 6 zerglings and lost one game. How do you even counter that? I couldnt even get one zealot up in time!

Protoss shields regenerate by themselves when not in combat. Shield batteries from broodwar aren't in SC2.

Depends how many/what time of the game.

Early game ball of upgraded marines + medivac will wipe out void rays easily.

Against void rays i usually use a mixture of marines/medivac + vikings and micro the hell out of them. Doing it this way means if your opponent doesn't micro his rays onto your medivac then marines and then vikings he will lose.

Their not fantastic btw, althoguh the standard of play in the Craftcup is very good.

Some German guy won this week.. Huk was knocked out quite early.
 
Hi Guys

Ive bought Starcraft 2 havent played it yet and im about to install it on my laptop,but im not sure how it will run?

Laptop specs are:

i3 M [email protected]

4.00 GB DDR3

ATI 5470 512mb

64 GB SSD

Will this run SC2 at modest settings or im i wasting my time?
 
Not sure what you expect to see. You have the game, you have your laptop, you've said you're about to install it and yet you're asking us how it will run?
 
Should play it fine. My laptop with an i5, 6GB of RAM and the built in GPU of the i5 plays it fine at the lowest settings at 1600x1200. I imagine yours with a dedicated GPU will play it a lot better than mine does. Maybe medium?
