Why do you drink?

I drink as I enjoy the taste and on a night out if you and your friends have a few drinks much hilarity can ensue.

However because I enjoy the taste I am happy having a few cans or bottles when I am in alone.

These days I find it funnier to take a camera and be the sober person who takes pictures of people **** head drunk and then upload them to facebook for the world to see!!

straight Vodka at home. If I'm in a working mans club then its Sam Smiths Bitter if I'm in some trendy town center type bar then its draught Stella Artois. If I'm in a bar and the Guiness is good then its Guiness.

In the past 6 months, ive pretty much given up drinking, for no real reason, but the hangovers I was starting to get were vicious! Proper all day migrains, and i cant be doing with that.

I went out the other week for a work mates birthday, and had 5 pints, but I spent more on taxi's for the night than i did on beer! Next time I think i'll drive and just drink soft drinks!

I don't drink. I never really cared much for the taste of alcohol or the effects, as I like being in control of myself.
I can see the appeal for the majority, as alcohol is a cheap way to "enjoy" yourself, but I'd much rather save up and spend my hard earnt money on something more interesting that I know I, and other people will enjoy sober. Lasting memories are more important to me than seeing weekends at a time seem like you're in Groundhog Day?
I can't say I've ever met anyone, my good woman included, who I have needed to have a pint in me to go and chat to either :)

I have a glass of whisky at home a few nights a week if I feel like it, just find it relaxing especially after a hard day. I go out and get hammered maybe one a month. I do hate the hangovers recently so drink a lot less than I used to.

I used to drink out of peer pressure which was a really dumb thing to do.
I'm strictly tee total now, just looking at a drinker makes me angry.

Lol. Never heard that one before.

Why would she be sick? Unless shes really wild it makes her dizzy? :p

Yeah, she's a quite wild when she drinks, she gets a bit hyper and once the night is over, she just feels sick :o

One night I had to drag her home and she passed out just before we got to the bed and she made quite a mess of the room so I had to clean her mess up.

Getting hammered is for kids that don't know any better. We've all done it and all regretted it.

However, getting mildly sozzled enjoying a drink you really appreciate is where it's at. Much more enjoyable and no hangover.

Yup! as one grows older/wiser, one indulges in alcohol as a social lubricant and learns where ones limits are; pushing the envelope, on special occasions etc.

I drink in a bar nearly every night as that is where my social life is; we chat and do the crossword and have a nice time in each other's company for a few hours; we indulge in badinage etc and are sometimes content to sit quietly (some of us are old and lonely) .... age ranges from mid thirties to an old dear in her eighties, male and female, and all is good.

I drink far too much, as my Dr will attest to but I have never pre loaded, or whatever it is called, and only ever have the odd tot before bedtime, when at home.

I see SO MANY youngsters who will have serious problems in later life; they think that being totally hammered/smashed etc is the only way to have a good time ..... they really will be sorry; such a shame we Brits can't do booze. :(

I drink Fridays and Saturdays only, nothing during the week, can't handle the hangovers anymore., usually getting pretty sozzled, starts in pub after work with a few then home to enjoy family life / house / garden with a bottle of wine and then maybe something stronger to finish.
