Right guys, we have a 4 hob, grill and gas oven cooker.

A month or so ago, the oven packed in, it only has a gas option, not electronic.

So, instead of parting with good money, I have just pulled her out and had a quick inspection, I can't notice anything electronically wrong at a first glimpse, but never having looked on the inside of a cooker before, I have no idea what I am looking for.

So, here are the issues.

I go to turn on the over (turn the knob) and normally a automatic spark igniter comes on until the flames are lit. Also, when the oven knob is turned and you open the door, the light at the back should come on, but doesn't.

Before I pulled the oven out and shut the gas down from the mains, I checked to see if I could light it manually, there is 100% no gas going into the oven. Not even the igniter comes on. Even when using the manual button for the igniter which does all ignitions around the cooker at once.

How ever, the 4 hobs and gas grill work fine...

Any ideas?

I know! Exciting lol. Some safety freaks worried thinking a hillbilly was working with explosives! Mind you, I have been known to walk into a gas tank and not smell anything funny...

Oh well, next time they have a question and I might know the answer to, I will simply troll as well :)

You obviously know best and you obviously know that if you mess with the gas side of it then you should have a CORGI registered person to check it after before turning the gas on.

Has CORGI gone now?

Like you said no, but as usual politicians have to meddle & change things when there was nothing wrong with the old system in the 1st place.

the gas safe register website said:
Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI as the gas registration body in Great Britain and Isle of Man on 1 April 2009 and Northern Ireland and Guernsey on 1 April 2010.

They should take that site away then because it's confusing.

Thats what i would do :)

I have seen so many accidents with gas cookers you wouldn't believe.
I've seen many eyebrows burnt off when people put their head down to the grill and it's backfired, hairs on peoples arms burnt off when they've been checking one hob ring but turned another one and I've personally put out 12 gas fires when pipes haven't been connected properly.
