The car needs front pads, which are good ones to go for?
I think you've got a blinder there. I had a 323i variant and found the standard pads fine. I'd get a wheel alignment done, and an oil change. If the slight ticking doesn't go away after that, I'd not let it bother you. You'll most likely spend more than the car is worth investigating the issue.
Depends on how you plan on driving it really, stock should be fine if you drive normally.
You can go for uprated pads such as EBC Yellow Stuffs, or Performance Friction Z Rated if you want to do fast road driving.
Sign up to www.e36coupe.com if you haven't already and take a browse around, loads of useful information on there. With regards to brakes, check in the e36 Performance section, loads of talk about discs, pads, conversion kits etc.![]()
How you liking the engine?![]()
Love it!!! Love the sound it makes aswell, cant stop planting my foot![]()
Not sure if the 325 has an exhaust flap, if it does, a la the 323 & 328i try the "Golf tee mod" , my 328i sounds MUCH better for it.

325 doesn't have the flap.
The only issues I ever had with mine were rear top mounts, lambda sensor and clutch release bearing.
And since then its been abused more than any 3 series on here will see over its entire lifetime.
Has a slight tapping noise from the engine when cold, once hot it goes away
I love the rims!![]()
Genuine ACS Type-1s. I've been meaning to take them off, refurb and sell them for a long time, I've just never got around to it.
I will keep you in mind if I ever do, or perhaps even consider it motivation.
