Im looking at uprating some bits, but really have been out of the loop for a while regarding components. I recently bought a spinpoint 1tb drive to replace my cruddy seagate drive, and a couple of redwing case fans, but am looking for a bit more performance.

current spec as follows-

-coolermaster centurion case
-hiper 550?w psu
-8800gts 640mb
-Asus p5ke mobo
-OCZ Platinum Revision 2 XTC 2GB 6400 4gb
-core 2 duo e4300 @ 2.4ghz

Res wise ive got a 24" samsung @ 1920x1200. Was looking to spend up to about £350 at the moment?

Q6600 from the bay or somewhere £80-90

GTX 460 1024MB £175 at the moment

Maybe some more RAM. I'd be looking at 4GB these days. Probably £80 or so?

Comes to about £350 :p

I assumed you game, so if not then ditch the GTX 460 and consider one of these:

Nah, I wouldn't bother upgrading your CPU, its still excellent for gaming and would be a waste of money.

Instead, upgrade to 4GB ram and get yourself a 5870, wouldn't go for GTX 470 as your PSU probably won't support a power hungry card :D

Agreed, a c2d at 3ghz+ is still plenty for most games.
Get the card first, if you need a little more then get the cpu.

I'd get the crucial SSD as a boot drive and probably a 460 or 5850. The rest I'd upgrade at a later date. As it stands you have a pretty good rig and adding to that those two will add a nice performance gain and can be carried on up in a overhaul sometime in the future if you chose to.
