Don't Laugh...

Quadcore is sensible for both future proof and the increasing number of games that are optimised(BFBC2 performance increase is worth it alone). If you don't want to be upgrading for a little bit longer i'd save the extra few pennies and grab an X4.

I've saved up a bit more money and I'm just going to build a complete new system

Does it look okay?

Ok - I dont feel so bad - Geforce 2mx!

Thanks for the replies - I'll go for the cheaper case and get the 1024mb 460 as I'm going to be playing at highish resolution.

I don't wont to pay much more for another motherboard

At least you guys have got things that were good when they were released... E2140 and an 8400GS here :p

I think an X6 would be overkill in respect to whats needed. I'd say go for the X4 955 and a 1GB 460 rather than the X6 and 768MB card. Oh, also the OCZ Golds have apparently turning up DOA recently, so I'd probably go for something else - maybe XMS3 or whatever it is? :)

Ok cheers, I don't think I'll need 6 cores - I'll go with the 1024mb 460 GTX

Would the G.Skill RipJaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C8 1333MHZ be a suitable replacement for the OCZ Gold?

the cpu cooler is garbage the stock one is as good as that ;) either stick with stock or at least pay 30 quid on one.
