Microsoft "It's time to invest in PC gaming"

Its too late for MS. They failed with GFRLWL, and didn't even make a dent on Steam, which is growing from strength to strength.

failed? didnt they try to pull the same subscription BS they do with xbox live lol...... yea thanks for saving us by trying to make us pay to be able to peer to peer with friends....

No idea about subscriptions and GFWL, I've only got one game that runs with it, and that is sadly Fallout 3...on Steam. Xbox Live is miles better than the GFWL implementation, which often saw my PC just take 30mins+ just to apply a single Fallout 3 update fs.

What multimedia API have you been using for 99% of your gaming for the past decade?

Sorry this guy specks the truth MS got you DX which even ( the consles use to some extent)

they wouldn't be here today if it was not for the PC...most things in a consle was prototype for the PC back than apprently ( I said APPERENATLY)

yea and same thing is happening now. MS are probably prototyping dx11 on pc and then release a console that can utilize it properly. in other words, pc gamers are the test bunnies.

without pc gaming, consoles wont advance in tech.

Well, going of the last 2 weeks:

* Age of Empires Online shown, and it looks awful
* Flight Simulator will most likely be heavily dumbed down
* Both "Flight" and AoE Online use GFWL as shown in their trailers which is "ugh"
* Fable 3 for the PC has been delayed and has no current release date

So... yeah, well done Microsoft!

this is the 3rd time in about 10 years they have said this.

nothing will probably happen this time either

Didn't they just announce a new age of empires, flight simulator and 2 other games? that looks like they're investing to me.
