Does any one know? for e.g HAWX 2 is the number two most bought thing on there (well pre orderd) for £34.99 ... you can get it in the shops for a lot less + steam have it for 29.99! ..

Also other games on d2d are fallout 3 (normal) for £29.99. You can get fallout 3 GOTY edition for £19.99 on sites like.. dam cant say on here.. but use your imagination

They do have the odd bargin like a few months back they had AION for £15 which is slightly cheaper than otehr sites like steam etc.

HAve people never heard of shopping around? Or even common sense >< surely you know to at least check out the price on other websites..

Steam is the same though, barring the sales - look at their top seller list, there's always a few €60 games on it. There's obviously enough people who just want something now and don't care about the price.

I was in the off license yesterday and took 2*4 packs to the counter.

The bloke got really frustrated with me and said 'We have a 3 for 2 offer, why have you only bought 2 to the counter?' He was totally bewildered and assumed it was to make him get the third, free, 4-pack.

I had a think about that, and TBH it's been years since I've bothered reading the price of things or even reading any offers - I simply can't be bothered. I just have always bought what I want when I go shopping. Who cares if something is £2.40 or £2.90. Why even bother reading the price? I certainly couldn't be bothered to walk anywhere else to buy it, and I want it.

I suspect a lot of it is just down to people being lazy with searching, they see it there and are prepared to pay that price to download it right there and then; not everyone has steam installed either which could be another reason they don't buy elswhere.

Digital distribution is a dead horse? You need to go into HMV and see if you can find a PC section anymore. I know people who use it solely, mostly abroad where boxed copies are unavailable. Steam is damn handy although sometimes the prices are stupid.
