On the serious note though, you have a Crossfire only board. I would get the cheapest 5770 or stretch the budget to 5850 (£195 elsewhere).

EDIT: scrap the 5770, wouldn't be much of an upgrade from 4850. Get the 5830 or save for 5850 IMO.

A HD5830 or the lower spec GTX460.

Both are about the same price and have about the same performance.

Driver and software support is about the same and both come with about the same amount of useless added features.

Apparently someone is doing the higher spec GTX460 1GB for £167 if you can find that it would be worth stretching to.

If i do that am i better of with a Point Of View GeForce GTX 465 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card for £173.89 inc VAT http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-029-PV&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1812

That's a good question. The GTX465 would more than likely be the faster card out of the GTX460 series, but it uses the cruddiest core of the range to. Maybe its worth it but you really have to look into heat, power and noise outputs when buying Fermi based cards.

the 465's are really not worth it tbh.

theres not much difference in performance between the 465 and 460's
the 460's are running on a newer design, thats cooler and uses less power, and is also quieter.

the 465's are basically down clocked 470's

What resolution do you currently use, and what games do you play?

At the min my res is 1680*1050 but soon to be 1920*1080 when i have my new monitor and i play most pc games but for MMORPG.
so at the min its going to be the 460 but iv seen XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 1024MB GDDR5 for £111 only problem is its only Dx 10 :( and how much faster is the 460 over the 4890

Being DirectX 10 only won't be a problem for a while mate, it's the rough power that matters. Radeon 4890 will be more or less equally fast to 5830 (and probably 5-10% faster) and on pair with GeForce 460 768MB. If you go for the latter, you won't be able to Crossfire but you will save some money in the long run on power bills. It has some overclocking headroom as well. Ideally you'd stretch your budget to GeForce 460 1GB.
