Life After ME2

I finished ME2 last night, really good ending with a terrific and terrifying end boss, not something you see very often in today's games.

Really? I thought it was laughable. Completely out of character with the rest of game. And I wasn't impressed my team mates just stood there like idiots doing nothing the whole fight.

It wasn't out of character at all. It made a lot of sense because the game was building up towards an encounter with a reaper. The collectors had to have a reason for abducting millions of humans in the terminus systems and the construction of a reaper that resembled the genetic code of the species it was derived from made sense.

Teammates weren't helpful you're definitely right there. But they were always useless throughout the game. I treated them as my extended abilities basically (turned off squad auto-abilities, chose two teammates for the full spectrum of techs and biotics and used them when I needed to).

Sure plot wise there had to be some reason for it all but the fight itself just didn't looked and fell right given the rest of the game.

True, I came to the conclusion it didn't matter who you took, half way through the game.

Not got around to playing ME2 yet, if its as simple as the first it should be a nice easy 'cup o tea' game. First one was a bit easy though, and the side missions were a total waste of time.
Still waiting for the price to drop a bit.

The Witcher and DA are definatally worth every penny at full price.

KotOR if you haven't played it before. Its a bit old now but the story is fantastic.

Agree, its a pretty average looking game whilst your stuck on the first planet but as soon as you get off that, it opens out into one of the best games I've ever played. The endings on it are mind blowing as well, beyond even ME's scale lol.

I'm in a similar situation, but have to choose between Batman AA or Just Cause 2 (DA doesn't interest me).

Finished ME2 a while ago. Cant seem to get into any game now..other than racing sims like rfactor lol.
Iv done my ******* run and dated jack at same time. I dated tali on my good run through :)

Waiting for ME3 before i get into any other games.

Currently doing my ******* run on ME2 on veteran mode too... never had so much fun in a game! I must've punched like a million people halfway through a conservation. :D

Bought ME2 on release but never played it as i lost my ME1 saves and will have to play through that one again.

Either:
1) download a save of your choice from here,
or 2) start a fresh me2 game, and use gibbed's save game editor to change the ME1 plot flags and import it into a new game plus. Sorry I don't feel like trawling the web for tutorials (lazy me ;) ). There are a few minor details such as editing back in a weapon choice you get in the game, which you can't get in new game plus.

If you enjoyed ME then i'd say any other Bioware game will be good for you. Dragon Age is great as is KOTOR 1/2
Also the beast fight in the witcher is a pain, forget about the add's he spawns and just go for the beast. keep knocking him down and if you hit him when he's down the fight is over. Also use the potion to give you the defence (the one that slows everything down, forget the name). I was stuck on it for ages until i tried to knock him down, and did it a few attempts after seeing this tactic :)

Well things didn’t go quite according to plan this weekend, I did get ME2 completed but lost three team members during the suicide mission. Jacob Thane and Garrus. Tbh I’m not that bothered about losing Thane and Jacob, but I want to complete the game with both Garrus and Tali alive, that part must happen, but preferably everyone making it out alive if possible.

The Normandy is fully upgraded, pretty much all tech upgrades have been done and all the loyalty missions have been completed so I guess I just need to keep playing it until I get the result I want. Also got some of the DLC aswell for me to carry on playing after everyone gets out of the suicide mission.

Are you selecting the right people for the various roles?

Probably not, next time I play it I'm going to swap the teams around a bit

Jacob went through the tunnel, but died while we were trying to close the doors at the 1st cut scene.

Garrus died with me at the 2nd cut scene

Thane did while leading the 2nd fire team at the same time Garrus died.

the way to do it is tali in the tunnel garrus leading both teams and a biotic expert (jack). if youve done all the loyalty missions no one should die (although apperantly the slaarian ******* has a tendency of randomly dieing even if youve done everything so send him back with the survivors)

I think it's a good thing you had people die. You lose the fun when you know the triggers for suicide mission deaths - not much of a suicide mission any more.
