Make sure you buy Clearsky too as it's only £7.99 then you got the trilogy on Steam with that deal.:)

I've bought the first (SoC) on steam and I simply can't get into it. There's too little guidance on the beginning, too little fun details, too little special things, I don't know how to explain it but lets just say, fallout 3 kind of tempted/forced me to play on, Stalker doesn't.

the second stalker clear sky is meant to be the worse out of the lot, if you buy that for more than the 1st and 3rd put together it just isn't a good deal anymore :p

Clearsky is my favourite, most people didn't like it because they played it without the complete mod and plus when it came out it didn't run that well even on decent pcs however like previously mentioned the complete mod makes it a lot better.

i had a similar problem the first time i played it, couldnt get into it then 6 months later a friend was pestering me telling me how good it was, so i tried it again and i thought hmm its still a bit weird.
a few months later i thought i'd try it again since it looked ok (graphically) and i had bought myself a new graphics card, difference is this time i'd already played the beginning of the game a couple of times so i knew what i was doing.
i ended up really getting into the game....this time it was me telling people they should play it for the atmosphere and how the world feels alive.

Similar experience for me. Started it several times over the years and always gave up after a few hours. However last month a gave it another go (with the Complete mod) and after the first hour or so I was hooked. Great game and also finished Clear Sky (also with Complete mod) straight afterwards which was almost as good.
