OcUK Poker Thread.

Last night I was sitting with a Queen High Flush twice.
First time the board had the Ace so with one card to beat me, I went all in :( Lost to the King!
Second time was hilarious, I raised fairly big on he river and was flat called... by a straight flush!
Eveyone was in tears winding up my opponent, who could have ended my night there and then with a re-raise! He won't live that down for a while!

well day 1 of the big game didn't go well :(

was doing fine till last hour when I lost a 80k pot when it all went in pre, my KK v KQ and he hit a straight

in for £275 and only have 60k, there are 2 stacks of 170k

ave stack 78k , £2,200 in pot

You never told us how you got on in the end ;)

7th I think, never got going on day 2 :(

Unlucky!

WSOP 2010 videos are now up if anyone's interested.

$50k HORSE event, final table included the Mizrachi brothers and the Tournament of Champions, brilliant final table - Lederer, Negreanu, Seed, Chan, Harman, Hachem, Greenstein, Cloutier and Duke.

Anyone else play rush poker on FT?

It's really difficult to go back to standard tables anymore, im actually hitting 1300 hands per hour!!!

yeah I played it for a few 100K hands but not in a while... its basically like crack cocaine... ridiculously addictive!!! I was 4tabling rush at one point when the games first started. I even bought a website as I was really into it for a while but didnt do anything with it.. still have it!

The variance sucks tho.. lot of set over set situations.... and not being able to get reads on players is crap... plus rat holing is allowed... and when i was playing HUDs werent working... maybe i'll give it a go again now.. dont they do like 5nl rush now?? Its kinda cool that PTR can't track Rush hands as well..... if your playing rush make sure you have rakeback... can play -1bb/100 and still make money if you put enuff volume in!!

Played a heads up 4 way tourney, $6 buy in, won $24.

Just bought in for $20 against two stacks of $50 and turned my $20 into $50 on both tables within about 20 hands on each.

I really need to work on my discipline. When I play like I know I should I tend to do quite well but I often fall into the trap of calling junk hands pre-flop and then getting myself in tough positions that usually end badly.

That's a nice table you have there Rotty. I'd love to have something like that but I can't really justify the money at the moment.

Guys, cany anyone explain the difference between the tournament types? Looking to play some rather than just sitting at random tables.

I've got Pokerstars but no issue with getting on another site.

Thanks

Do you mean the difference between Sit and gos and MTT (Multi table tournaments) or the Rebuy/Freezeout etc?

I dont use Pokerstars, but you can normally see how many people the max entry is sometimes its 6, 10 or 50. Other bigger tournaments can go into the thousands. You can check how long the blind levels last. There are three different formats: Regular, Speed and Turbo. This indicates how long the blinds and essentially the tournament will last.

Nothing special till he defended this beyond belief
