**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Another n00bie question. Ive just started playing this and want to play online with a mate in 2v2. I presume you both have to individually play placement matches to get ranked before you can play together?

And how do you actually ensure that both of you join the same game? Do you have to create your own game, invite them in, then open to public?

No, you do placements together and get put into an actual 2v2 division. To play 2v2 ladder, invite your friend to your party and simply search for a 2v2 ladder game. You'll be matched with 2 other people doing the same thing.

Ahhh thanks, another new button (create party) that I hadnt spotted :) I cant even navigate to GUI, Im about to get my ass handed to me!!!!!
 
Great set of games between dimaga and MorroW. I am guessing for Idra vs Tarson its going to be 3-0 to Idra.

Yeah the games were excellent. I think Tarson will give Idra a good fight, don't think it'll be a walkover for Idra, Tarson may even pip it (baring in mind Tarson 2-0'd Artosis and Morrow, and beat Madfrog).

Now that I'm winning lots of games in Bronze, it does make me wonder how I'll fare when I get promoted, against people that can scout properly etc :s.

only played a few or so in silver but it seems exactly the same as bronze to me :S. for some reason was put against platium players in bronze though, defiantly no noticeable dif.
 
Idra is such a beast. I don't play zerg but my god you have to respect the way he plays.

TvZ for the IEM final should be classic :)

Yeah, Idra may be super emo and a bit of a douche, but he's just such a brilliant player and as you say, you just can't help but respect his play. Game 3 vs. Tarson, when Tarson was just roasting drones, queens and lings for fun I really thought he had that game in the bag, but Idra pulled it back, brought out Mutas and that was pretty much the end of that. The Muta vs. Thor fight was quite hilarious :p

In a way I was kind of hoping for a ZvZ final, because the way this tourney has shaped up I can pretty much see what's going to happen in the finals with a TvZ. Terran will get lots of Reapers, and move into a marine/marauder + tank composition, Zerg will early expand and bring out Muta's as soon as possible.
 
Quick question, whats the best SCV to scout with so as to not hit econ too hard?

SCV that does first supply?
SCV that does barracks?
None of the above?
 
Been playing this for a bit using a trial code from a friend and I'm hooked.

Quick question though, Blizzard want £45 for the game as a download, when I could go out and buy it from a local shop for £10 less. What I'm wondering is, as I already have it installed, is there anywhere I can buy it from online for shop price (£35) (other than direct from blizzard) that I can just get the code and activate it? Obviously don't say where, I'm just wondering if such a service exists.
 
Love this game, pretty sure I'm awful at it.

Played a few games with my friends vs. AI to learn the basics (I hate single player games lol) and then played the 5 pre-league games and got into the Platinum league.
