**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

i wish there was more than one single player storyline

ive still yet to play any game online, so games seem shorter and shorter these days

Blizz have left it open there planning 2 more expansions IIRC

i thought [hoped] they would!

im used to C&C you see, didnt play the first SC only got this cause of the hype.. and its good, nice as EA ruined C&C

pricey game but best single player story line i played on this game genre

goes to play*

Been playing this for a bit using a trial code from a friend and I'm hooked.

Quick question though, Blizzard want £45 for the game as a download, when I could go out and buy it from a local shop for £10 less. What I'm wondering is, as I already have it installed, is there anywhere I can buy it from online for shop price (£35) (other than direct from blizzard) that I can just get the code and activate it? Obviously don't say where, I'm just wondering if such a service exists.

Yes it's possible. I bought mine for £32~ and received the key via email half an hour later.

I searched for ages to get a legitimate key online (but not via Blizzard) and failed - ended up getting a copy from a local indie store - was their last one! And to think I was considering waiting until this morning to get it.

Ahahaha, as soon as I see I will play a terran, I do 3 rax rush out of his base, works all the time but last time he actually went for single thor rush, didn't work out as my boys were faster ;)

Lol plat is all about rushing, no point in not cheesing.

The guy who was talking to them after morrow won asked morrow loads of questions about the game etc and he was proper cool about it then he asked idra 'do you think there will be any updates coming to help against terran' or something of that nature and he just said 'yeah probably' in a right spiteful voice and that was it.

If hes so hateful about terran why doesnt he just play as it :s

It wasn't spiteful. That's just Idra. He's just emotionless most of the time. This is also known as the CJ face lol.

What did he say?

He just said "yeah, probably, I dunno" in typical Idra fashion.

It was the interviewers fault (he's become somewhat of a meme on TL for being a massive troll) for asking terrible questions. "I don't want to bring up game balance", then asks about game balance, then says "I have nothing else to ask" and that was it.

It was spiteful to me. Putting down his loss due to the other playing as terran. If he doesnt like them supposedly being overpowered why doesnt he use them? Obviously playing for money means do what it takes to win and he didnt so his own fault.

And so much for emotionless his head was redder than anyones ive ever seen looked like he was about to start having a fit.

Also he was stuffed. Terran can do a completely risk free opneing with mass reapers. If the zerg player makes the _smallest_ micro error it's an insta lose.

If the Terran messes up, oh well he'll just spam maurauders.

Idra wont change races because Terrans will be getting nerfed before long. Also, their play style doesn't match with his. He's a macro player and Zerg have the most natural macro mechanics in SC2.

In SC1 Terran were the more mechanical, macro race. Comparing SC1 Terran with SC2 Terran is like comparing a 1800's wooden war ship with a modern aircraft carrier. They are still boats, but they are completely different in form and function.

You don't know Idra very well. How he responded is exactly how he reponds to everything. Same tone, same demeanor, he answers like that to every question. He doesn't switch to terran because he doesn't want to switch to the flavour of the month race that is the most overpowered at that time, they will be nerfed eventually. Might as well stick with what you're good at, and his play style suits zerg.

And yes, terran is overpowered early game. Notice how zerg have absolutely zero chance to put any sort of pressure on at the start. Terran can go 3/5 rax reaper, fast banshees, all sorts of hellion pushes. The zerg can only fight to survive past the early pressure. If the zerg makes 1 mistake (like Idra did in the final game putting down a baneling nest) then he loses. The terran make as many mistakes as he wants because his early attack can easily do enough damage with very little effort so the zerg can't pressure back. Zerg can only really pressure once they have mutas up, which take forever. One race shouldn't have a 100% chance of ending the game early in any matchup, it's just not fair to zerg that they have to fight so hard just to survive and get a chance at a midgame.

idra lost the second game even if it was a macro game. Tarson clearly outplayed him and he deserved to win the tournament. btw if the terran spams marauders he loses instantly to mutas.

Ah :/ was expecting something more after "idra raged so hard at losing."

Just heard about the 3 rax reaper opening every game. I think Idra was being saintly by just keeping his response to "yeah, I dunno" :)

For **** sake this is retarded I always loose to zerg, help me out here guys.

Im terran, plat league.

Their early mass mutas get me or their bloody zerg worm spawn inside my base rush owns me >_<

What opener for zergs should I use
