Drive a Zafira 1.6? Get 7 more mpg!

Don;t mention anything bad about John Thorne, or he will come here and sue you for everything.

His solicitorz will get you with a scary letter!!!!!!!!!

So if I was to say John Thorne and is company seem like a joke I would be in trouble?

I hate graphs which have broken Y axis scales that are misleading at first glance, or to someone who doesn't know what they're looking at...

I hate graphs which have broken Y axis scales

They're the worst, in this case they serve only to make the increase look bigger, and make it look like a 1.6 Focus does 0mpg rather than 19mpg.

That's the statistic which is the icing on the cake, 19mpg from a 1.6 Focus, I have a hard time getting my 2.5 V6 that low. Or is that because I run it on 97/99?

Exactly, it's utterly terrible practice. They havn't even labelled the broken axis correctly. Utterly, utterly unprofessional of them.

It's odd that on those dyno graphs, on some the 95 is blue and the 99 is red, and on others it's the other way round.
Almost as if they just labelled the graphs so as to make the 99 uppermost, regardless.
Still, it's a graph, so it must prove their point!

I hope Thorney Motorsport starts taking Clubcard vouchers soon and look forward to seeing their new blue and white logo.

i've got tesco 99 in the 330 at the mo. Every time i drive past a tesco, they flag me down and GIVE me cash because that's how economical it is!

Earlier on I spotted:

- Some of the tests were done in June, others in November
- The ambient/intake air temps were not recorded and thus no adjustments could be made as required by the DIN standard (making any power gain claims irrelevant)
- Two of the cars were recorded as having done their power runs in 2nd gear rather than 3rd or 4th (which are far more likely to be be the gears closest to giving a 1:1 ratio)

for a start. thorney

some guy on clubgti was saying how its meant to be 102 ron etc and how thorney told him so

ive been out and logged ignition retard/correction on both this and shell optimax and the differences were negligable. one might be one degree better at one part of the range and then a degree behind later on

Total tosh, used this last week and it gave me less per tank than V-Power, i don't see shell running around saying you get epic amounts of MPGz more vs peasant fuel.

Are shell not advertising something about using fuel saving petrol???
