AMD experts - the fastest 95w CPU

Phenom II X4 955 95w version. I think there is a X6 1055T 95w version too, but it depends if you want speed or more cores.

Thanks! so the X6 1055T it is then. Just looked OcUK has no stock left & no ETA. Can't find nowhere else that sells this chip:(

Anyone finds one available PM the details. That would be great;) Edit. Found one! WOOOOOO

Edit again. I found the 125w version bahh. Again let me know!

Depends on the application, for some things the 1055t will be faster if the task utilises more cores, for some the 955 will do better because of the higher stock speed.

If you clocked them to the same speed the 1055t would be the one to have IMO.

1055t can turbo 3 cores to 3.3ghz though and most games etc dont use more than 3 cores

Aparently there not selling the chip on its own only as part of a package. there was some for sale the other week on the net but there gone as well now. Very strange why this is happening.

I have a 95w 1055t and i run it 3.5ghz and then turbo to 4ghz.. Its a superb chip even and barley hits 40.C at max load with only 1.2v vcore..

They seem to have stopped selling them for some reason..? No idea why. Tempted to ebay mine as i got it quite cheap....

Im sure it would fetch a very good price.

Says OCuk have 10+ left again, give Nathwraith a message, some stuff they can only sell 'over the phone' I seem to remember like the Corsair (I think it was) PSUs with blu LEDs in the fan.

The 1055t 95w can only be sold as a bundle unfortunately.

Frozennova is correct, it is because of the terms AMD have laid down with this CPU no retailer can sell it seperatly as it is for system intergration only.

Msg/email me if you want to get hold of just the CPU and Motherboard separately. :)

Its a bit silly AMD are putting these terms on a cpu. Surely they want to sell as many as possible..?? Or are they expecting them to fail..?

Could well be, why would anyone buy the old 125W version when they can get the more energy efficient, higher OCing 95W version for about the same price.

Have you tested the processors? are they on average better than 1090T for overclocking?

The do clock very well, it will be the motherboards that hold these CPUs back as they cannot always run the high bus speeds. Which isn't a problem with the 1090 as it is a Black Edition chip. The 95w clocks like a demon on a Crosshair IIII tho.
