Does anyone remember this super-old game?

I am trying to find the name of this game I used to play when I was very young. You watched the game from above in an arcade style and you had to control the character across the game, I also remember a bit where you have to avoid these spiders or another bug where they walked round in a circle. I'm pretty sure the game was done in squares so you move square by square rather than in a smooth way.

I played this game in about 1999 but I don't know exactly what year it came out or anything.

I know its very vague but it was way to many years ago to remember properly now. Any suggestions?

Super Bomber Man? Highly unlikely but it does fit the square by square thing and the bug moving round in circles. But I'm sure you would have mentioned the bombs!

Unfortunatly not. It was no where near as colourful and I think most of it was grey. I had it on a floppy disck and seem to remember calling it 'the boy game' although that was many years ago!

Again, unfortunately not. It is viewed from the same perspective as the first suggestion but there are no colourful bits at all and it was 2D. I am starting to consider just how old this game probably was...

I also don't think it had any dialogue or a storyline. I remember playing it in about 1999 but I think the game was considerably older!

The description seems to match a game I used to play called Chips Challenge. It was out way before 1999 though.

Can you remember the platform? The colour of the background? Any other details?
