did you donate to pakistan? i was going to but...

Wow we have a comedian here, no one finds you funny **** head.

OP is obviously a bit dim but an interesting point raised was why other Islamic nations have not donated heavily? What seems like a brotherhood of a people doesn't really exist which is a shame as that's what is portrayed heavily.

I found it funny, infact it was the funniest thing I read today!
Thanks Disco Boy! :)

In a more serious note, I would have no problem donating food like bacon and pork to these people. That way I know it would be helping the people instead of money going into hands of the terrorists.

i thought this deserved its own thread because of this video.i warn you now do not watch this unless you have a decent stomach as two young men die in this video from being battered to death with a club. i found the worst bit was the sound of wood on skull.

in this one u can see clearly the police of pakistan there, taking part and managing the crowds.

i was going to donate £10 to them but now tbh i hope an even bigger flood wipes out the whole god damm country, why are we giving these animals billions?before anyone says otherwise i understand there are a few good eggs in pakistan and oh yes the children etc etc but how many came out to stop this? 0% :/

Think about that a little bit. How would that be helping muslims?

because at the end of the day it's food and its good food. if they want to be picky in times like these then they might as well die.

if a vegetarian was in the same situation and the only food they could get their hands on was bacon, i'm pretty sure they'll take it. afterall, they're not stupid and brainwashed

There are some unbelieveble comments here with regards to victims of the floods. The scale of which looks unprecedented.

Comments on particular foodstuffs which Muslims are forbidden to eat are just shocking.

I have a sense of humour up there with the best of them but I can't find anything remotely funny or jokeworthy where people do not have clean water, food and basic sanitation and have lost everything.

One of the neighbours (whom I never talk to) said hello to me today (he is an old guy, who I think is starting to loose his marbles), so for some unknown reason I decided to say happy Ramadan to him.

lol

I am at a loss as to the look on his face and what must have been an odd look on mine.

(this only relates to this thread being that he is from Pakistan)

Um let me put it this way. These are people - human beings - that work their butts off every day to feed their families.

Only a small minority push fundamentalism - true some of those may be in the government - but this is like the entire UK in flood and the US withholding aid because the population of a small hamlet somewhere are terrorists. However not helping is likely to just add fire to their misguided cause.

I can see that some governments wish to push their government to clamp down on terrorist friendlies. I can see some people will theorise that a government seeded the atmosphere above their country to create the serious amount of water (tin hats please!). As is the way of GD and praise the internetz.

In the end these are human beings.

To the OP. This has nothing todo with Sharia Law or Pakistani people or any of that crap. It's just basic human Psychology. It is disgusting what they did - like to see you step in if you were in there and get your head smashed in?

Here's some simple wiki articles explaining what I mean.

Don't blame you for your reaction though. My family is from Bangladesh not all that dissimilar and it's barbaric - you wouldn't believe the stories what my cousins and uncles living there have said, kid's grow up soo quick there and experience things that'll torment grown men - but because it's the norm over there it's accepted and they get on with it. I'd be wary of starting fights with any immigrants who recently come over that's for sure they won't have our moral standing except the middle class children brought up well.

I think one thing that has been shown is the generosity of people within the UK, they say the DEC appeal has now has contributions of £30M and more made, there will of course be loads more given directly to relief charities.
I think £30M is even more than sport relief or CIN make on their big nights, so it is a great amount of money given freely.

Hopefully it'll mainly get to help feed people and provide emergency relief. If the charities do the work directly and mainly avoid the Pakistani govt then the potential for money to go missing, or bribery to occur will drop.

Either way the kids dying of cholera need clean water, and lots of it, so hopefully they get plenty of rehydration therapy there as swiftly as possible. As for rebuilding Pakistan, that is something that will be left to the IMF and Pakistan to deal with, and no doubt they will. It'll take some time, thats for sure.

do a couple of you who want to send pork/bacon to them as a joke understand that in islam if you are going to starve to death and any thing thats not halal to eat, does become so. so as much as you want to try and troll people who are battling disease and loosing family/homes, you would be helping them in some way. Guess you didnt really think before you want to try and retaliate with despicable intentions.

Personally...

I would only donate to western run charities who are going over there to help...

Im asian of indian background.

I dont trust the corruption in pakistan and even my own country.

To donate directly to them as the money will barely get through to the flood victims and help them.

As you can see from the video police in the areas worst hit by the floods are very corrupt.

I will donate but not directly as i would rather know what my moneys being spent on.

I believe this is what most informed people understand as well.
