Finance haters gonna hate :-)

Lol at the car snobbery in this thread, really guys, get a grip on how things really work.

Laughable that you can post about an i10 and somebody actually shows you the Jag you could have brought for the same money!

This thread shows what Motors on here has become, go on, award yourself a gold star for it.

One person showed the Jag, other people are suggesting good, cheap, alternatives, like a Fiesta, which would have been perfectly fine.

Firstly, its not snobbery, its common sense. The badge has nothing to do with the reasoning behind realising this was a bad purchase.

Secondly, it's BOUGHT, brought is the past tense for taking something from somewhere to somewhere else.

Thirdly, become? It's always been a place of sense.

What exactly is your point though? ...I know somebody has to go and buy these cars new or nearly new, but this one is over 2 years old now and he is paying more for it than a brand new car costs. I know he is more interested in the monthly payments but when it comes down to it, it's a poor deal and not a good car for that amount of money.

On OcUK we (don't listen to me really, I waste a fortune on cars) do try to advise people of this and help them not to waste so much money on poor car deals though, or getting caught up in the usual quagmire. Some people are going to do it, but OcUK members have the benefit of this fine forum to help them go about car buying in a better way. This guy even new what he had done and made a thread about it knowing the type of response he would likely get.

I wasn't suggesting he buy a Jag, far from it ..I was just demonstrating what £7k can buy you.

I must admit I posted this as I knew it would get this reaction... of course there were better buys about, but I needed a car quick (a class steering woes), and this just worked for me...

Do I have sleepness nights over it, hell no... missus has even named the car Doris, why do women do that ?

It's not snobbery, it's giving across our opinions that there are better ways of spending the money.

Most of us are here because cars are a hobby, and we enjoy them, and discussing them.

So many people don't think of the alternatives because all they care about is what letters or numbers are on a sheet of perspex at either end of the car, or the numbers that show up on the dashboard, and don't think about anything else.

It's been said a million times - this place would be boring if every response was "nice car mate" (much like many owner's forums) - at least here you get a nice range of opinions and suggestions, and most of the time they are actually best for the person in question!

Ahhh a thread of fail wouldn't be complete without the "THIS IS WHY PEOPLE HATE MOTORS" post. Well done. :D

If I was your wife I would divorce you for being an utterly dull twit.

But..... a city car is never gonna be a 'hobby' car, so will never get appoval in here.

I didn't post for a 'nice car mate' comment, just for a laugh really. The i10 makes me smile everytime I get in... it's a genuine fun car

Posting in an epic thread.

For £6300 (thats almost a grand less than you've payed before finance) I got a two year old Fiesta 1.25 Zetec Climate with only 8k which is perhaps what you should have done.
