Hey guys,

Just updated the BIOS on my Rampage 2 Extreme from 1802 to 1903.

Do these temps look a little hot to you?

Im using a Noctua NH-U12P.

It idles around mid 40s.

Intel burn test makes CPU's go much much hotter than any real world usage. Prime95 would probably not break 80.

It's nothing to worry about, personal preference really.

less than 90 in IBT is fine.

its pretty much the same temp that mine runs at, althou my idle is alittle higher, but then my room has always been like a sauna

Just did another half an hour in Prime and here are the results!

This ok? :)

EDIT: I made the mistake of not closing Realtemp between tests hence the maximum is the same as in IBT!

84 is as high as it got in Prime95.

My 920 @ 4ghz (1.35vCore) under IBT on max only reaches 80c max, so that looks a bit hot to me. But as others have said, very unlikely to reach that level in daily use.

If your worried about the heat drop the clock back and use a lower voltage. You should get a nice quiet system at 3.5 that will use a lot less power.

I'm currently running my 920 @ 3.2 with 0.936 volts. It's silent and sips power.
