What would you like to see from PC Gaming in 5 years?

All PC games to be released on Steam and Steam only.

It would make PC gaming so much easier for the masses and show them that it really is the best platform to play games on.

I don't see how games in 5 years will be any better than they are now. What I mean is, although graphics, physics and all that stuff is improving the gameplay in 95% of games is the same as it's been for the last 10 years.

I'm a big RPG fan so I'd like to see someone do something really original and innovative in that genre.

Depends on the genre I'm looking into, but in a general view, I would like to see games that are exclusive to the PC, have graphics pleasing to the eye, games that are well balanced in the gameplay they provide and games that have been ironed to near perfection for end-user enjoyment.

I do enjoy cutting edge graphics and 'oh that's nice' visuals, but I would rather play a game with decent graphics for its time and have the above points so the gameplay is so much more enjoyable. An original game or storyline would be a huge plus also!

A decent wolfenstein game, not like the last load of trash :( :( :(

Classic gameplay with great graphics even revisiting old titles giving them better AI and graphics.

49 threads in 15 days, wow.

What I'd like to see in 5 years? The end of DRM. The only people it ends up ******* off is paying customer.

Cloud computing at its best ..

Screenshots/audio streamed over to you, keyboard and mouse controls streamed back to THE MOST POWERFUL COMPUTER IN THE WORLD that handles all the people playing at that time.

In 50 years time it's going to be considered ridiculous that we all had individual PCs, that sat doing precisely zero, in fact TURNED OFF, for the majority of the time! We're going to turn to ultra-thin client .. it's already happening in business (see Citrix) .. home next.

Madness!

Game's that aren't released in beta form and require paying customers to do their testing for 'em.

As for games... Well Baldur's Gate 3 & Elite IV would be nice. Though to be honest Duke Nuken Forever is more likely to be appear than either of those.
realistic boob jiggling physics

This.
Everything on Steam.

Not this.

creativity, continuity and story-telling. doesn't just apply to the PC market either, the console market is flooded with sub-standard crap to be honest and people buy it, because they want to play rubbish. Halo: Reach is a perfect example for me of a game with so much promise, underachieving because of rigid thinking and lack of creativity. story-telling has basically plunged down the can recently as well with games going more and more for boring, generic multiplayer rather than creative and well thought out story driven gameplay. as someone who rather enjoys reading and writing (mainly science fiction, short stories) i think its a damn shame that its came to this and for me gaming is actually dying, some games will keep this spirit alive but 90% of them will spit all over the face of creativity and rule by pleasing the masses of arcade hungry children. :(
