Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD753LJ)

cheers!

looks good but swap the mobo for a cheaper one, the Samsung F1 for a 1TB F3 add a case and PSU (ideally corsair) and swap the 5870 for a GTX 470 or 480

why swap to nvida ?

or is that just a prefrence...

was looking at :

OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply

thanks

Allso "trying" to follow a black n red theme as blue is overdone ;-)

the 5870 doesn't really have a place any more, the 470 for less is almost as powerful and the 480 is more powerful for not much more

that PSU should be fine

Might not follow a perfect colour theme but this will be a very nice gaming spec for £800:

It is good, especially if you are not too technical minded like me. That motherboard makes overclocking a doddle.

I have the same CPU but you could probably save a bit and get the 955 as it should clock to the same. The 5870 is a solid card I have the XFX one myself. People complain about the drivers but I have never had an issue myself.

My mate is running that RAM with the same motherboard and a 5870 and it works fine so no problems there either.

I would change the HD to a Western Digital one. Those Samsungs have had issues with the new AMD motherboard chipset and it may need a firmware update before it will work.

Will be a nice setup. :)

Agree with the above i have a 5870 and am very happy with it had no issus either but its down to personal perference really.

well i been browsing for a while now taking it all in etc...
playing around with "Mock" specs

think i would prefer AMD route over the other two brands
just out of principal... maybe price to ;-)

Amd being the more future proof brand all that jazz

was more concerned if the items above where all compatible
(havent had a bad comment yet) so must be on right track...

ill probs see about getting this within next month or so
being as my old pc died and im suffering withdrawal symptoms! hah

any more comments /we

cheers!

Yuo I only got the 965 because it was on offer :) I run a 5850 and dont have a problem with ati drivers. All a ho-ha over nothing complaining about the drivers as if nvidias dont suck bad at times.

Nice rig with some very nice kit. :)

GTX460 is the best value card out there atm in mine and others opinion.

Why would he order a 460 when he's budgetted for 5870 performance?... Every magazine/review site d**ks all over the 5870 as the best (sensible) high end card.

If you're getting that motherboard I assume you want to go Xfire at some point so go for a PSU around the 800W mark (Antec do a 750W for around £100 that should be enough) or there's the Corsair HX, 850 comes i about £150.

The Corsair Dominator Redmint suggested is great for cooling

Yes you could probably trim back the motherboard a little any of the 890FX will perform almost exactly the same - just they won't look half as good :p

AMD's next processors may not fit AM3 sockets. It's just that intel's definitely won't.

And do change the sammy HDDs out for something else. Like someone else said, there's been compatability issues.
