Im about to buy to two LG 24" 1080hp Full HD monitors...

But had a brainwave (Not like me)

at the moment im playing on 1600 x 900 and my spec plays any game highest settings with a very reasonable fps.

i know jumping to 1920 is gunna effect my fps in games, i was just wondering how other peoples 5770's handle games on this res.

Thanks in advance

I ran a 5770 for about 3 weeks. I had 2 x24" 1920 screens. No problems at all. I could play anything on 1920x1080. I was VERY surprised how well that card worked. Cant remember the FPS on everything apart from DODs was well over 250 and BFBC was around 80? might have been more.

mine are crossfired and struggle at this res if AA is applied in fc2 , stutters in stalker games as well . but i am running a phenom II 955 where you are running intel cpu's (not sure if this is why)

i don't use aa, and yeah the card does pack a surprising punch.. never been disappointed with this card.

thanks for that danny

Shutters due to low fps or due to crossfire?

No matter, it has'nt recieved any comments sayings its uncapable..
no need for an upgrade any time soon then :)

thanks guys

Too many bad rumours about it. I'd rather just get 1 beasty card mate

Fair enough but they are rumors as far as I can see, I was expecting issues when I got my 2 x 5770's but ive not encountered any so far 1 card runs hotter than the other but thats due to the clearance between the pcie slots.

Other people may have had a differnet experience but mines all positive and I've had the cards since December.

I has CF 5770's and am quite happy with the performance. Min fps was dodgy every now and then in Batman AA if i recall, which was the only bad thing I've came across.

While 5770 can handle "ok" for games at 1080p in general, I'd think that it's better to go for a GTX460 1GB or the 5850 if you can afford to have more headroom for the odd games that are more demanding.

5870's a future upgrade but will defo be sticking with ATI.
i don't wanna go buying new cards and components if the kit i got already is over par.

just run these benchmarks on your current system. remember i'm on windows 7 so everything will be highest direct x setting and all benchmarks are run at deafault apart from resolution which was 1920x1080
