which ssd ?

The C300 is cheaper than the 2E and faster in most situations. Avoid the SSDNow V- series. SSDNow V+ is ok though.
If you think you might want more space (and it's nice to have the flexibility it brings), the 96GB vertex is good value for money. It won't feel any slower than a c300 in practice.

why whats wrong with the SSDNow V- series ?

i would get the vertex 2 its the best all rounder and if you ever want to raid them they have garbage collection (like trim but for raid), + ive got one:D

I was actually thinking of an older model V-, the 425 is ok. 4K Performance isn't anywhere near a c300 or Vertex 2E though, and for the sake of £20 a c300 is a much better buy.

does the c300 run ok on sata2 mobo's ok , i have read it can cause issue's

id give a +1 on the vertex 2e for sure. got mine yesterday and installed win7 in 15 mins flat, now getting sub 18 second boot times and 3 second shutdown times. these sandforce sf1200 chips are amazing. my put off on the c300 was the 70mb write speeds...

deffinatley not regretting the vertex 2e (managed to persuade bendage on here to order one aswell today lol)
