Hey guys,

Ive been looking for a good all round watch for work and normal day to day use, i have around £250 to spend and have seen the M710DB or M1000DB models for around this about?

as any one got any experiance of this? pictures would be good :D

thanks for your help guys.

If you like the style of the cheapo casios then spend 10 quid on one.

for £250 I would want something that actually looked nice.

Do you really need a solar powered watch with calendar or just want to tell the time?

I use the MTG-930DU, Its a waveceptor, solar powered G-shock. Really like it. Comfortable, not too big or heavy, super accurate due to radio updates and its easily readable in the flightdeck.

I'd like to get a cheapo Casio in honour of my childhood, but I never know whether people will think it retro-cool or cheapo-skank ><

Yes, sadly the cheap casio watch bandwagoon left port a while ago now.

Damn non geeks trying to get in on our geek sheek. You need a watch with a calculator/tv remote these days to be cool.

I have a Casio G-shock Gulfman. It's perfect for work (Police) nice clear digital display, withstands being knocked about, very light too.

If I had 250 clams, I would be looking elsewhere though.

I wear one of these retro badboys at work

Costs less than a tenner. I dont understand people that spend hundreds on a watch, it still tells the same time my watch does

That's exactly the watch I have on right now - excellent beastie. I've just placed an order for a rather nice, if basic, Black Dice watch for £68.

@OP - dude if you like it and you're going to wear it - buy it. Casio is a well respected brand and has a great history. DOIT!

Didnt know there was so much hate towards Casio :-(

Casio is like saying Amstrad, Alba and such like but they do make OK products but are not taken seriously.
I have always wore under £10 Casio watches and they even produced the first domestic polyphonic keyboard sampler for £50.
I've even taken Casio keyboards on stage with me but expected to get a smirk if somebody spotted them.
Wearing a £250 Casio watch is still wearing a Casio watch like a Lada is still a Lada no matter what they put under the bonnet.

Apparently lots of people on this forum seem to believe themselves to know everything about watches.

The fact stands that casio make some very good beaters, the g shock range are very good watches.

Perhaps, OP, you could post what you want from a watch and your budget and we can give some suggestions for watches that would be suitable. It might even be the case that a casio is what you need ;)

And another piece of advice that I'll offer is not to post on here about watches, rather on a watch forum or on a forum with a watch subforum. On here the usual watch discussion is "which Tag shall I buy?" with replies like "lol £2k on a watch you could get a car for that."
