Guys i know there are some problems with clocks with the previous and latest drivers but is this a big issue with the 5 series ATI cards?

The 5 Series cards all run super cool compared to the Fermi so i cant really see the issue as running at 400mhz instead of 150 as the cards do not get much hotter.

Im running a GTX 480 and the power saving clocks are suppose to clock to 50hz for me but instead run at 400mhz as running a 120mhz screen need higher clocks, running at 400mhz idle instead of 50mhz makes a big difference for me as the idle temps increase by a good 10c

Running at 400mhz instead of 150mhz does not make a big difference when temps are concerned, well it never when i had a 5870?

Call me Crazy but has anyone ever considered that ATI are increasing the clocks when OC for a reason?

What's your secret.
:D:D:D

Now THAT was uncalled for..... xD

140fps in some games I'll have you know! And I get 50fps and above in Crysis on medium settings. MINIMUM. I've done my benching....

Anyone got an official ATI/AMD link? Don't fancy downloading from a link posted on another forum, hosted on a site I've never even heard of. :p

Yeah that's what miffed me off, after 10.4 they introduced the fix for dual monitors and overclocking, but it also applies to single monitors, expect higher power draw and and an extra 10-15c in temps. Idle now at 50Mhz on a 480, when your PC is on 24/7 it can make a difference especially in hot weather.

My idle clocks seem stuck at 400/1050 now, even when I uninstalled, ran driver sweeper and reinstalled 10.2. :S

Not really bothered though, idle temp is around 40C, load is less than 60C.

Cheers guys, but I'll wait anyway to dl, I tend to leave it a few days to wait for scare stories to surface.

Why would you go back to the 10.2 drivers?
