Hi All,
I've recently had a set of Creative S750 Gigaworks stop working on me.
I can try to get the broken subwoofer repaired but I'm thinking that as they're four years old it might not be worthwhile. I have a couple of options:
1) Buy 7.1 amp and separate subwoofer, re-use Creative speakers ~£450
2) Buy Logitech Z-5500 £200
3) Wait for next model after Z-5500
I'm a bit reluctant to spend a lot of money investing in a separate system as it takes up a lot of space and I'm not sure if it'll be that much better than the Z-5500. I really like the look of the Z-5500 but they have been around for sometime and if Logitech are about to come out with a 7.1 alternative then I'd go for it. I'm not tempted by any of Creative's ~£100 7.1 offerings as I don't think they'll match either the S-750 or Z-5500. There are some rumours going around about a new Z-5500 replacement from Logitech but it doesn't seem to have gathered any momentum, except for the good price of the Z-5500 at the moment.
If anyone has any thoughts or opinions on any of the three options I'd really appreciate it.
